Alex Rodriguez crashed his $400,000 Maybach as he arrived at the Yankee spring training camp in Tampa on Thursday morning.

A-Rod was involved in what’s described as a “minor fender bender” as he arrived at Tampa’s Steinbrenner Field at about 6:15 a.m. to prepare to tell the media he’s a “changed man” after a tumultuous 2009.

A spokesman for the slugger strongly denied rumors he’d been texting at the time of the crash, adding, “There were no injuries and Alex is fine.”

It sounds as though Mr. Alex Rodriguez has quite a thing for hot Hollywood blondes – his latest target being Cameron Diaz.

According to an inside source, the New York Yankee and the “There’s Something About Mary” starlet met some time ago and have been “talking” and “hanging out.”

The duo first made their affection for one another public at CAA’s Super Bowl bash at WALL inside the W Hotel South Beach over the weekend. According to an insider, the two spent the whole night all over each other with Diaz even doing a special dance where she propelled herself onto her Yankee man.

“They are totally into each other and weren’t concerned about hiding it at all. They were really playful and seemed to be having so much fun together,” said our source, adding that they “totally” hooked up and even left the party together.

Another eyewitness said that A-Rod arrived around 1 a.m. and went straight over to Diaz. The “very affectionate” twosome apparently spent the night sipping Grey Goose cocktails and dancing in a corner table with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

As for Cruise, it appears the “Top Gun” star is quite the Jay-Z fan.

“When the DJ played ‘Empire State of Mind’ Tom grabbed Katie and was singing all the words,” added our insider. (Hey, at least he refrained from jumping on the couch).

But turning back to A-Rod, the night before, spies spotted the MLB star (who refused to pose for any pictures) hanging out with pals Jamie Foxx, Derek Jeter and funnyman Damon Wayans at the TAO Super Bowl Party. And although the baseball star was surrounded by a slew of gorgeous women, he didn’t pay them any attention.

But while he only seems to have eyes for Diaz these days, can she hold his attention better than his previous leading lady, Kate Hudson?

After six months together, late last year Hudson and Rodriguez called it quits among a swirl of rumors that the baseball champ was still hung-up on his former flame, Madonna. Meanwhile 37-year-old Diaz reportedly ended things last May with model Paul Sculfor after an intense year together.

But despite her lack of luck in the love department, Diaz still credits the romance that her parents shared as her central source of inspiration.

Cameron Diaz was seen “grinding” on Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez at a party on Saturday night.

The ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ actress and the baseball player were at the CAA Party in Miami and began flirting with each other.

The New York Yankees player was sitting on a couch beside Cameron as she “was dancing by herself” before moving her gyrating body towards him.

At one point the blonde beauty – who was “tipsy” and being very “fun and flirty” – began “grinding on ‘A-Rod’”.

The 37-year-old actress also partied with friends Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes at the bash, and was seen in between the two chatting when she wasn’t hanging out with the hunky sportsman.

A fellow reveller told America’s OK! magazine: “Katie and Cameron were getting along great. They were having a great time.”

Other stars at the party included Jessica Alba, Adrian Grenier and Kevin Connolly.

Alex, 34, has been single since splitting from actress Kate Hudson in December.

Cameron has previously dated a host of famous men including Maroon 5 star Adam Levine, musician John Mayer and British model Paul Sculfor.

Kate Hudson, upset by her breakup with Alex Rodriguez, found a sympathetic ear at the local premiere of “Nine.”

At Tuesday’s after-party at M2 in Chelsea, Hudson was seen chatting quietly with Madonna, who dated the Yankee slugger last year. “When the cameras were on Kate she was all smiles. But privately you could tell she has had her heart broken,” a witness said.

Humiliated Hudson, who was reportedly dumped by A-Rod because he felt she was hogging the spotlight, also flew in her mom, Goldie Hawn, to support her. Mother and daughter drank dirty martinis at M2 “and hung out all night,” a spy said. “It was her big premiere, and she was upset Alex wasn’t there to support her.”

Hudson’s friends Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer tried to be supportive, but couldn’t make it through the aggressive crowd to congratulate her. The couple gave up and slipped out the back entrance into their waiting SUV.

While Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” became a Yankees anthem during the World Series victory, it was hardly music to Hudson’s ears. “When the song was played at the after-party, Kate looked at her mom and did a fake scream,” our source says.

Still, there’s hope for the relationship. A pal of Hudson told us they’re trying to make up. The source said, “They had a huge fight in London at the premiere of ‘Nine,’ and Alex flew to Miami to hang out with his friends. But in the last few days he and Kate have started speaking again on the phone. She hopes they can work things out. But they are both very stubborn.”

Also making appearances at the party were stars Penelope Cruz and boyfriend Javier Bardem, Harvey Weinstein, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Fergie, who showed up with husband Josh Duhamel, despite an Atlanta stripper’s recent claims that she had a one-night stand with the actor. “They looked very affectionate all night,” says our spy.

Camera shy an actress is not.

In light of Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson’s recent split, a friend of the former couple has revealed to Us Magazine that the actress’ desire to always be on camera directly lead to their split.

“[Hudson] wanted more camera time each and every game,” the pal says. “She would always want to be styled before games and she’d insist on front-row seats.”

Despite reports that A-Rod’s jealousy ended the six-month courtship, it seems that Hudson’s mugging for the cameras, specifically at Yankee games, annoyed the 34-year-old third baseman, leading to the demise of their relationship.

“It was a turnoff to have a girlfriend who always wanted to be on camera,” the friend says. “Alex wanted someone who was more interested in building a long-term relationship than just building their profile.”

According to the source, A-Rod broke up with the 30-year-old actress “over a week ago,” but the couple continued to be seen together in public so as not to steal attention from Hudson’s promotional work for her new movie “Nine.”

Rodriguez, who ended a 13-year relationship with his ex-wife in 2008, was reportedly put off by Hudson giving him “an ultimatum” to “fast track” the relationship.

“He has two lovely children with his ex-wife, and that requires a certain amount of responsibility,” the friend said. “She gave him ultimatums that a newly divorced father can’t meet.”

Despite their differences, the exes are said to have ended things amicably.

“She did take the relationship seriously, and he has a lot of respect for her,” the source added. “They had some really wonderful times together.”

Now that A-Rod is a free man, the baseball slugger was quick to get acquainted with a new leggy blond while in Miami over the weekend.

There’s trouble in paradise for Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez – so A-Rod headed to Miami to create his own weekend bliss.

The slugger had quite a getaway without Hudson: Spies tell us he was spotted with the same leggy blond, first at an Armani Exchange “Cool Shades of Style” dinner on Saturday at the Delano Hotel, and later at Miami hot spot LIV.

“She and Alex were introduced at the dinner, but it looked like they got pretty friendly pretty fast,” a partygoer dished, saying they were talking and laughing a lot, with the Yankee acting very much a single man.

“They definitely left the dinner separately, but showed up at LIV together a few hours later,” the spy says.

They weren’t exactly alone. The Bronx Bomber’s crew included his ex Madonna’s good friend Ingrid Casares, who also chatted up Alex’s lady-of-the-moment throughout the evening.

“Ingrid and the blond were definitely friends,” the snitch dished, saying Casares and Rodriguez seemed like old pals.

Meanwhile, Kate was in New York City promoting her upcoming flick, “Nine,” (we saw her brunching at Prime Meats in Brooklyn with pals on Saturday, and later in the day leaving her SoHo apartment with son Ryder).

Most recently, Hudson dodged questions about their relationship during a “Late Show” visit, bashfully admitting to David Letterman: “Yeah, he’s a friend of mine. Nice guy.”

A source close to the couple admits that while, yes, Alex is a pretty nice guy, no one is surprised by the news.

“Alex has a wandering eye, and Kate is a hopeless romantic. It’s not exactly the perfect match,” the snitch dished.

While several outlets have reported the pair have broken up, our source says it’s too early to say that they’re Splitsville.

“This isn’t the first time Alex has acted single while he’s out, and it certainly won’t be the last,” the insider says. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Kate forgave him.”

Alex Rodriguez and Kate Hudson jetted to the Dominican Republic the other day for this weekend’s David Ortiz Celebrity Golf Classic.

While they’re there, the lovebirds are slated to hit Jay-Z’s big 40th birthday bash at the nearby Casa de Campo resort. Spies report Jay-Z and his multi-Grammy nominated wife, Beyoncé, arrived yesterday for the festivities. Other guests expected at the party at a plush villa include Sean “Diddy” Combs and Oprah Winfrey.
