Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is ready to show some razzle-dazzle on Broadway.

The pop singer who was recently booted from “Melrose Place,” is set to play Roxie Hart in the long-running musical revival of “Chicago.”

Producer Barry Weissler says Simpson-Wentz will join the production on Nov. 30 for a 10-week engagement ending in early February. The performer played Roxie in the London production of “Chicago” in 2006.

Among her best-selling singles are such songs as “Pieces of Me,” “Boyfriend” and “L.O.V.E.” She is married to musician Pete Wentz.

Their characters will make a final appearance on the CW drama in January, the network said Thursday.

Heather Locklear, who starred as Amanda in the 1990s “Melrose Place,” is joining the new edition starting with the Nov. 17 episode.

Simpson-Wentz’s Violet and Egglesfield’s Auggie have been part of the murder mystery involving Sydney (Laura Leighton), whose death kicked off the season and who’s been seen in flashbacks. Original cast member Thomas Calabro also co-stars.

Just in case you were wondering about Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s dexterity while she was pregnant with baby Bronx Mowgli, we are here to ease your concerns and report that she was as limber as ever … even right before she was about to deliver. Hey, it’s Labor Day weekend, so why not get a bit of pre-labor descriptiveness in while we can! The scoop after the split… we mean, jump!

In an interview with Rachael Ray (via UsMagazine.com) that’s set to air on the cook’s talk show on Sept. 15, Simpson talks all about the before-and-after of Bronx, saying her and husband Pete Wentz are still trying to figure out the parent thing, but that Wentz “is definitely over protective. Ashlee says she’s “definitely going to lay the boundaries down” on Wentz.

She also says that despite having to very famous parents, she doesn’t want Bronx “to grow up in the middle of Hollywood.”

She then goes on to talk about her actual pregnancy, and this is where the details that made us scratch our heads come in.

Simpson tells Ray that she “could do the splits when I was nine months pregnant.” Not enough for you? Don’t worry, there’s more! “I could put my leg over my head still. I used to be a ballerina,” Simpson shared.

And there you have it. You can get ready to see more of Ashlee as she returns to TV in a redux of ‘Melrose Place’ this month on The CW.
