The 30-year-old member of the super-rich Johnson & Johnson family died from untreated diabetes in January.

Her father, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, has asked the court to appoint him special administrator of his daughter’s estate, TMZ.com reported.

He said in the application that “it is necessary for him to take possession of all of the assets … as quickly as possible to preserve her estate from damage, waste, injury and publicity.”

Johnson’s mom, Sale Johnson, said in legal papers she has custody of Casey’s daughter, Ava, and is trying to adopt her or become her legal guardian, the gossip Web site reported.

Socialite Casey Johnson died of a complication of diabetes, the Los Angeles County coroner said Thursday.

Johnson, 30, an heir to the Johnson & Johnson health care products fortune, died of diabetic ketoacidosis, the coroner said in a brief statement. Diabetic ketoacidosis is a life-threatening condition caused by lack of insulin and sky-high blood sugar.

An autopsy was conducted Jan. 5, a day after Johnson’s body was found at her home. The coroner’s office said it would not be able to discuss specifics until the autopsy report and toxicology results become available within two weeks.

Dr. Michael Baden, former chief medical examiner in New York City, said Johnson probably slipped into a diabetic coma, but people can usually be resuscitated from that in the first 24 hours.

“If you have somebody with diabetes, there should be somebody checking up on that person,” said Baden, who has been an expert witness in cases involving the late comedian John Belushi and former pro football star O.J. Simpson.

A message left for a family spokesman was not immediately returned.

Johnson, the daughter of New York Jets owner Robert “Woody” Johnson, lived a party life. In December, she announced her engagement to bisexual reality TV star Tila Tequila.

Her body was flown east for a private funeral.

Johnson had been an insulin-dependent diabetic since childhood. A memorial fund in her name was set up with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Her father is chairman of that organization and co-author of the book “Managing Your Child’s Diabetes.”

Casey Johnson lived in a quiet neighborhood behind big wooden gates marked “Grumblenot,” but she often partied with high school friend and fellow heiress Paris Hilton.

Johnson was charged in December with burglary and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking $22,000 in clothing, jewelry and other items from a friend’s home. She pleaded not guilty and faced a February hearing.

She is survived by her parents, two younger sisters, and an adopted child she named Ava-Monroe, after her idol, Marilyn Monroe.

In an explosive new video, former reality star Tila Tequila took pop shots at the family of Casey Johnson and offered up her own theory on how her ‘wifey’ died.

“I definitely know that it was not a suicide, because she was so excited to start a new life with me,” Tequila tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive video. “I know it was an accident. I know it was a mixture of most likely her sleeping pills with her diabetes.”

The 28-year-old goes on to say that Johnson could only get a good night’s sleep if she cuddled with her.

Later, the reality star flashes a children’s book, “Understanding Diabetes,” which she claims Johnson gave her so she could learn about the disease.

Tequila, who has been criticized for reportedly using the death of Johnson to gain publicity for herself, also slammed the Johnson family.

“I’m not here to bash you, but for you to shun me out and to blame me for your daughter’s death when she clearly was in love with me…” she said in another video exlclusive to RadarOnline.com. “I just wish that you guys would stop blaming me for her death.”

Tequila, whose publicist Jessica Cohen quit Thursday due to “recent events,” was not allowed to attend Johnson’s funeral in New Jersey on Tuesday.

Johnson, heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune and daughter of Jets owner Woody Johnson, was found by a maid in her L.A. home on Jan. 4. The 30-year-old had reportedly been dead for several days.

Tequila is reportedly seeking custody of her late fiancee’s adopted 3-year-old daughter, Ava.

“Her last wish was to have Ava, have me have Ava,” she recently told Extra.

In a new twist to the Casey Johnson saga, Tila Tequila reveals that she is seeking custody of her late fiancée’s adopted daughter.

Johnson’s mother, Sale, currently has custody of Ava, 3, which Tequila insists goes against what her “wifey” wanted.

“Her last wish was to have Ava, have me have Ava,” Tequila told “Extra,” explaining that she intends to file adoption papers.

“[Casey's] not resting in peace right now,” she added. “She has come to me in my dreams.”

The Twitter-addicted reality star, who has tweeted about the Johnson & Johnson heiress more than 160 times since her Jan. 4 death, said she was kept in the dark about her late lover’s funeral plans.

Johnson was buried Tuesday in a tiny graveyard in Princeton, N.J., where only immediate family was in attendance, sources told the Daily News.

In a tearful interview with RadarOnline.com, Tequila recalled how she first learned that Johnson was dead.

“The last time I spoke with her was on the 30th, late on the 30th and everything was fine. The last thing she said was, ‘I love you so much. I never want to lose you. I can’t wait for us to start our family together.’ And then I said, ‘I love you too and I’ll be back home soon,’ ” she said before breaking into tears, as mascara ran down her face.

After she was unable to get ahold of Johnson on New Year’s Eve, however, Tequila says she became concerned, first thinking her partner was mad at her and then worrying that her phone service had been cut off.

“Finally I got a call from my friend, Joe Francis. That’s when I immediately booked a ticket home,” she choked. “The minute Joe called me, I was back here within three and a half hours, and that’s when I found out. Joe hid me at his house.”

Although cause of death for Johnson is still pending, Tequila believes she didn’t try to take her own life.

“I know for a fact, because Casey was so excited for our life together. I know for a fact it was not suicide,” she told “Extra!”

A maid discovered the body of Johnson, 30, in a bed at a friend’s home on Jan. 4. Investigators suspect diabetes – which Johnson had been living with since childhood – led to her death. Toxicology results have not been released.

More of Tila Tequila’s interview with “Extra!” airs at 7 p.m., Wednesday on NBC.

Casey Johnson’s family and close friends said farewell Tuesday to the doomed Johnson & Johson heiress at a private funeral service in New Jersey.

Casey’s father, Jets owner Woody Johnson, was at the ceremony at a secret location, along with her mother, Sale, and sisters, Daisy and Jaime, a source close to the family said.

Bold-faced buddies like Nicole Richie and Paris and Nicky Hilton, attended a private memorial in Los Angeles last week.

It was not clear if they were at the Jersey service.

Tila Tequila, the reality TV star and self-proclaimed “wifey” of Johnson, was not invited, the source said. Casey was found dead in a bed at a friend’s home by a maid on Jan. 4.

A short time later, Tequila confirmed the death of “my Wifey Casey Johnson” on Twitter.

The source said investigators suspect diabetes did Casey in. “They did a full autopsy and would have announced they found undigested drugs in her stomach,” the source said.

The Los Angeles County coroner hasn’t released the results of the toxicological exam, but the initial autospy revealed no evidence of trauma.

While Casey, who was 30, battled drug and alchohol addiction, she had been living with juvenile diabetes since childhood.

Publicity-addicted sex panther Tila Tequila is said to have had some help in luring the now-departed Casey Johnson into that video where Tequila announced they were “engaged.”

Some insiders believe “Girls Gone Wild” pornmeister Joe Francis was the secret architect of the sad spectacle, which they say was designed to hype Tequila’s Francis-financed Web site. Tila’s assistant, Jessica Cohen, insists the video “had nothing to do with ‘Girls Gone Wild.’” Francis’ rep didn’t return calls.

Troubled socialite Casey Johnson was stiff, “ice-cold” and turning blue when a woman found her in a Los Angeles home, a 911 tape revealed Friday.

“I’m pretty sure she’s dead,” said the 911 caller, believed to be a close friend of Johnson’s.

“She’s ice-cold and her hands are turning blue,” the caller said. “I have two other people here with me and we all think she’s dead.”

The daughter of Jets owner Woody Johnson was crashing in a friend’s guesthouse a few miles from her own vermin-infested, pill-bottle-filled home.

Authorities have not reported an official cause of death for the 30-year-old Johnson & Johnson heiress, a diabetic who reportedly abused drugs and alcohol.

“I don’t know if it’s suicide,” the 911 caller said. “Very often her medication gets all screwed up, so it’s probably because of that.”

Johnson’s body was found in bed Monday. Police sources said she may have been dead for days.

By the end of her life, Johnson was partying to the point of exhaustion, her friends have said.

The wild child died owing Porsche Financial Services $105,740.93, court records show. Her family had cut her off financially in a bid to get her into rehab.

Johnson’s last public statement was apparently on Twitter at 1:12a.m. Dec. 29. “Sweet dreams everyone,” she wrote. “I’m getting a new car.”

Johnson was engaged to reality show star Tila Tequila – and the Johnson family was unhappy about the relationship, friends have said.

Tequila defended herself on Twitter Friday, saying she was the “only one who was constantly checking on my Wifey cuz I knew something was wrong.”

“I noticed a considerable decrease in Casey’s physical and mental state in the short period she was with Tila,” Jasmine Lennard told The News’ West Coast bureau chief Nancy Dillon yesterday. “It was absolutely not a reflection of who or how she was even weeks before.”

The former British model, who called the cops on the Q-Tip Queen just weeks before her death (she believed Casey had stolen things from her), says help was on the way for Johnson.

“I was trying to do exactly the same thing everyone who cared for her was doing – force her to get help,” she tearfully explained.

“Casey’s family was desperately trying to help her. And yes, relations were strained, but she loved her family.” Lennard says the Johnsons were actively trying to get the 30-year-old into Cliffside Rehabilitation Center in Malibu when she died.

Meanwhile, Lennard says, Tila wasn’t helping the situation. “One would imagine [that if you had] just lost somebody you claimed to love, who had very serious drug and alcohol problems, you wouldn’t be ranting like this,” she said of Tila’s Twitter page.

That site shows a slew of erratic messages since Casey was found dead Monday – including allegations that the heiress’ family had abandoned her by the time of her death.

Not true, says Lennard. “[Tila] is absolutely out of her goddamn mind. I pray she goes and gets some help. Every single thing she wrote in her blog was untrue.”

In a final insult, Lennard says the now-notorious engagement ring that Tila flashed in a video she made of herself and Casey in early December is as fake as their relationship.

Sniffed Lennard: “It’s of no value.”

A catfight nearly broke out over Casey Johnson’s dogs Wednesday when celebrity friends of the doomed heiress tried to retrieve them from her “Wifey.”

Reality TV star Tila Tequila refused to open the door when Johnson’s pals Nicky Hilton and Bijou Phillips arrived – and bizarrely told reporters she feared the twosome was going to put the pooches down.

“They don’t care about the dogs. They are putting them to sleep to bury with Casey,” Tequila exclaimed – an allegation flatly denied by a family spokesman.

One of the pooches, an 18-year-old toy poodle named Zoe, “is very old and sick and has a lot of issues,” said Jesse Derris, a spokesman for Casey Johnson’s heartbroken dad, Jets owner Woody Johnson.

“The family plans to seek veterinary help for those issues,” he said, but is not planning to put the dog down.

Tequila called the cops when Hilton and Phillips showed up – even though a source familiar with the incident said “they had set this up with Tila’s assistant.”

As Hilton and Phillips were explaining why they were there, “Tila opened the door and ran outside,” the source said.

“I didn’t know who was pounding on my door,” Tequila explained, standing on her Studio City, Calif., porch in a purple tank top, gray jeans and Uggs. “It’s been quite hard because it’s all of them against me.

“I feel that everybody needs somebody to blame, and they want to blame me. I have to go clean up the house because they just messed everything up in my house.”

Besides Zoe and a second dog, a Yorkie, Casey Johnson’s friends also took a rack of her clothes, including several fur coats, along with packages of insulin she took for her diabetes.

Asked if there was any plan to bury the dogs with Johnson, Phillips replied, “No.” Then she loaded a red suitcase filled with her friend’s gear into a black Range Rover.

It was not clear if the eye-popping 17-carat engagement ring Johnson gave Tequila in an online video – while both were clad in bras and panties – was among the retrieved items.

Woody Johnson’s spokesman also hotly denied Tequila’s claims that she was to meet with members of the family.

“It’s not true,” said Derris.

Tequila, 28, announced she was meeting with the Johnsons earlier in the day on Twitter. “Meeting with my family and my Fiance’s Family,” she wrote.

While Johnson’s sisters, Jaime and Daisy, are in town to collect their big sister’s remains, meeting with Tequila is not on their agenda, a source close to the Johnsons told the Daily News.

“Casey’s family and friends would rather deal with the Devil,” the source said.

Tequila was not invited to the memorial Nicky Hilton hosted on Tuesday night. But old pals like Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Alexandra von Furstenberg and Brandon Davis were there, the source said.

Johnson’s grieving father and her mother, Sale, stayed on the East Coast, the source said.

The 30-year-old heiress to the Johnson & Johnson fortune was found dead Monday. A short time later, Tequila confirmed the death of “my Wifey Casey Johnson” on Twitter. The initial autopsy showed no evidence of trauma, but the heiress had battled booze and drug addiction. Investigators are awaiting the results of toxicological tests done by the Los Angeles County coroner before they announce the cause of death.

Meanwhile, the LAPD shot down a report they want to question Tequila about Casey’s death.

“We’re not seeking Tila Tequila,” Detective John Shafia said.

It was not clear when Tequila last saw Casey, who lay dead in her bed for several days before she was found.

They had a spat after Christmas and there were conflicting reports on whether they saw each other on New Year’s Eve.

Johnson’s friends said her parents tried to get her into rehab, but the source close to the family insisted the heiress was done with her “recreational drug phase.”

“There were no illegal drugs at her house,” he said. “She had a refrigerator full of medication for her diabetes.”

Still, in an attempt to get Johnson straight, her parents tried tough love and cut off her money – and she was in deep debt when she died.

Casey Johnson’s body is expected to be flown back this week for burial after a private funeral limited to immediate family, Derris said.
