Although the 39-year-old actress – who has two daughters, Sam, seven, and six-year-old Lola, with the former ‘Two and a Half Men’ star -initially thought it was “sweet” that Charlie had invited her out for a meal while she was in New York last October, the situation quickly got “really crazy”.

The evening eventually culminated in Charlie going a drink and drug fuelled rampage in his room at the Plaza Hotel and allegedly attacking porn star Capri Anderson, who had been one of the dinner guests.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show, Denise said: “I was actually in New York to do press and brought my girls a couple of days early, he was off and thought it would be fun to all of us to go. I thought it was sweet because at the time, I thought he was in a different place entertainment wise of what he does in his free time.

“I did not know who was going to be at the table. When I found out I thought, ‘I can be cool about this, I can hang’, then things got a little crazy and colorful so I left the table. Then when things got really crazy it turned into a whole different thing.

“I think the police officer on the scene was a little dumbfounded about why I was at dinner with my ex-husband and four hookers. I was so nonchalant about it! Charlie had to be taken to the hospital and I went along. It was a very, very crazy memorable insane evening.”

Denise – who also has a one-month-old adopted daughter, Eloise – admitted she is now trying to protect her children from the details of her father’s public meltdown, and his subsequent behavior which included him living with two girlfriends at his California home.

She added: “I honestly really wanted to protect the kids from it as much as I can, and there were a lot of things that truly weren’t my place to comment on.”

Denise Richards has become a mom for the third time – the former Bond girl has adopted another daughter.

The actress is already mum to Sami, seven, and Lola, five, from her marriage to Charlie Sheen, and now she’s added a new female addition to her brood, little Eloise Joni.

The star’s rep tells People.com, “Eloise Joni Richards is named after Denise’s mom (Joni), and Denise and her daughters Sami and Lola chose the name Eloise. Denise and Eloise’s big sisters couldn’t be happier and feel incredibly blessed.”

Richards’ mom Joni passed away in 2007 after a battle with cancer. The beauty, 40, was married to troubled Sheen from 2002 to 2006.

The former couple – who have two daughters, Lola, six, and seven-year Sammy, together – ended their marriage in 2006 and although Denise claims they once shared a “beautiful love story” she admits it all descended into bitterness at the end.

Explaining her decision to write a memoir – which is being released next month – Denise has said she wanted to reveal what it was like to “struggle” through the divorce because “we had one of the worst divorces so if we get into a good place, that’s great”.

Speaking at the Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival Sponsored by Disney to Benefit the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, she added: “People have only gotten the rotten stuff so, you know, there was a beautiful love story between he and I and I know that it went the way it went, but I talk more about how I felt during that time because I feel like a lot of women can relate to that, going through a divorce and custody and being a single parent and trying to work and all of that stuff”.

While Denise, 40, has tried to protect the couple’s kids from hearing about their acrimonious divorce and their father’s recent troubles – including being fired from sitcom ‘Two and a Half Men’ after a public spat with show creator Chuck Lorre and stints in rehab to be treated for drug abuse – she is worried that won’t be possible as they get older.

She said: “They are in kindergarten and first grade so, so far they are okay, but I don’t know because that could change as kids get older and more aware. But today we are good.”

While Charlie Sheen has been blabbing about his life at every chance he gets, one person close to him has remained remarkably quiet: Denise Richards.

But the mother of two of his daughters – 7-year-old Sam and 5-year-old Lola – broke her months-long silence Thursday night on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live.”

“We’re not in the best place right now, to be honest with you,” Richards told host Andy Cohen of her relationship with her ex-husband.

But the 40-year-old admitted she does “still communicate with him,” even though he has repeatedly bashed her on-stage during his “Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat Is Not an Option” tour.

“I haven’t heard the actual show but I’ve heard bits and pieces,” she said. “I just think there’s places you shouldn’t go, but he chooses to and that’s his choice.”

And while Richards calls it “hurtful,” she realizes “he can do what he wants in his show.”

The actress revealed she’s met Sheen’s “goddesses” – Natalie Kenly and Rachel Oberlin, also known as Bree Olson – but has managed to keep their kids away from the women.

“This is his lifestyle and I’ve accepted it,” she said, adding the caveat that “there’s things that I don’t think are the most appropriate for two young impressionable daughters.”

And probably not appropriate for Sheen’s 2-year-old sons with soon-to-be ex-wife Brooke Mueller.

Richards confirmed reports that she has offered to care for the twins while both troubled parents try to work out their personal issues.

“I wasn’t asking for custody or anything like that,” she clarified. “But I definitely – I’ve put it out there several times over the last couple years that if they need help, I’m here.”

“I would love to have the boys to stay and be with the girls,” she said. “Whatever help they needed, I was definitely offering.”

Richards seems to get along well enough with Mueller, though she said the two haven’t spoken since Mueller went back to rehab earlier this week.

“I give Brooke a lot of credit that she’s going to try and fix the issue,” Richards said.

But one thing she can’t offer much insight on is Sheen’s sobriety.

“I’m not with him” she explained. “I don’t know if he’s sober or not.”

“It makes me sad to see him on a very wonderful, well-written, hugely popular show to going down this path,” she said.

The actress – the ‘Two And A Half Men’ star’s second spouse – is said to be “disgusted” that the actor is living with an ex-porn star and a marijuana magazine model, and doesn’t want their children Sam, six, and Lola, five, around them, according to website TMZ.

The site further claims she is worried one of Charlie’s two girlfriends – Bree Olsen and Natalie Kenly – is taking drugs.

Earlier this week, it was reported Denise is keeping the girls well away from their father, who has followed weeks of drug and alcohol fuelled partying and the cancellation of his TV series with a series of interviews and rants against his former employers.

A source said: “No way would Denise let her daughters be part of the insanity that’s going on right now. Her first priority is Sam and Lola, and she would never allow them to be part of this circus.”

On Tuesday, Charlie’s twin sons Bob and Max were taken from his Beverly Hills home by police after their mother Brooke Mueller claimed he had taken them from her home without permission. She was subsequently awarded a restraining order preventing the actor from being within 100 yards of her or the kids.

Brooke – who herself is recovering from substance abuse problems – has also asked her lawyers to request Bree and Natalie undertake regular drug tests.

However, Charlie and Brooke have now reached a “verbal” agreement regarding custody of the boys.

Writing on his twitter account, the 45-year-old actor said: “not sure what all the legal noise is about … just verbally reached a deal with B. no court mon. yay. yet the opposition felt it necessary to still harass me with old gibberish . odd? perhaps. transparent? you betcha’!”

Actress Denise Richards has taken aim at MTV bosses over the U.S. adaptation of British TV hit SKINS, branding the show’s saucy content “disgusting”.

The new series, which premiered on MTV last week, features controversial storylines involving sex and drugs, as well as foul language and nudity.

The first instalment caused a furore in the U.S. – a parents campaign group complained about the content and major advertisers have since pulled their support for the show.

Former Bond girl Richards admits she missed the season premiere – but after hearing about the Skins plotlines from a Twitter.com follower, she’s less than impressed.

In a series of posts on the microblogging site, she writes, “What is Skins?? Are these minors having sex?? This is the first I heard about a show with it… if that’s the case I think it’s disgusting.”

Executives at MTV, the network behind the series, have defended the controversial content, insisting the show features “real-world issues confronting teens in a frank way”.

The ‘Two and a Half Men’ star’s ex-wife – with who he has daughters Sam, six, and five-year-old Lola – admits she is “concerned” about the 45-year-old actor’s recent wild antics, including reports of drink-and-drug fuelled parties with escorts, and admits it can be “difficult” stopping their children finding out.

She said: “I think a lot of people are concerned about Charlie and my concern is obviously. What becomes difficult is things become so public.

“I’m learning how to deal with it. Just keeping a lid on it for our kids has been my main priority. It does become difficult.”

Denise, 39, and Charlie recently took a trip to New York with their daughters, but the actor – who also has twins Bob and Max, 22 months, with estranged wife Brooke Mueller – was arrested for smashing up his hotel room.

Despite the disastrous end to the holiday, the ‘World is Not Enough’ actress insists they were having a nice time beforehand and she is pleased she has a good relationship with Charlie these days.

She added in an interview with ‘Access Hollywood’: “The last two years, Charlie and I have been in such a much better place and it makes it so much easier for our daughters.

“When we went to New York, that was our intention – to have a nice time with the girls. I thought it was great that we could all travel together and go out to dinner and do things even though we’re not together anymore.

“The events that took place after that, you know, it was – difficult.”

Charlie is also rumored to have run up a bill of $26,000 on escorts after another wild weekend earlier this month, when he rented a penthouse in Las Vegas and allegedly partied with porn stars.

His behavior prompted actress Kirstie Alley to post a public plea on twitter, writing: “Charlie Sheen. you have TWO beautiful girls. Perhaps for the sake of these children, you can decide to QUIT hanging with porn stars and hos.”
Denise replied to this, writing: “That would be a good start.”

Motley Crue star Nikki Sixx’s winter romance with Denise Richards is over, according to reports.

TooFab.com reports the couple has decided they’re better friends and neighbors in Los Angeles than lovers.

Sixx and the former Bond girl, who was married to Charlie Sheen and has romanced rocker Richie Sambora, went public with their romance just before Christmas when they were spotted hand-in-hand outside a movie theatre in California.
