The fight to save Lindsay Lohan continues.
In a shocking recorded phone conversation between parents Michael and Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mom reveals the starlet was dating Heath Ledger at the time of his tragic death in January 2008.
“She was dating Heath when he died,” Dina revealed in the recording, posted on RadarOnline.com. “I don’t know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends. Very, very close, okay?”
In the 2008 audio tape, Dina claims the untimely death of the Australian actor triggered LiLo’s downward spiral. Ledger’s death was ruled accidental as a result of “acute intoxication” caused by a combination of six kinds of pills.
“That f—-d her up,” Dina says. “When she’s drunk or takes an Adderall with it, she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking.”
Dina also suggests the 23-year-old’s problems were stemmed from her parent’s tumultuous marriage, a sore subject Lindsay has previously said involved domestic abuse.
“She cannot be alone,” Dina claims. “When she sleeps here she sleeps with me… she has fears from being little and what you did to us.”
Former assistant Jenni Muro was a constant presence in Lindsay’s life, as was another assistant named Laurie. Dina claims that Jenni can provide the help her daughter needs and save her.
Referencing Lindsay’s suspended license from a second DUI arrest in 2007, Dina says she’s grateful her daughter is not allowed to drive.
“She’s got to take that whole course, thank God. Imagine her behind the wheel of a car right now?” Dina asks. “That would be deadly.”
Dina also expressed concern for Lindsay’s turbulent on-again-off-again relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson. She says she thinks her famous daughter should leave the situation, but she understands it isn’t an easy decision for Lindsay.
“It’s very easy for a rational person to say,” Dina added. “But [not] for an irrational person who has a problem with her DNA and alcohol and Adderall and asthma and every other things she’s got wrong with her.”

Federal drug investigators are probing two doctors over the death of actor Heath Ledger, the Daily News has learned.
The doctors – one in California, one in Texas – are believed to have supplied the “Brokeback Mountain” star with the powerful painkillers Oxycontin and Vicodin, law enforcement sources said. Authorities want to know if the drugs were prescribed illegally. “It’s an ongoing investigation,” a law enforcement source told The News Tuesday. “It’s not clear if there was any wrongdoing.”
The revelation came more than a month after the 28-year-old Australian heartthrob’s naked body was found in his SoHo loft.
The city’s medical examiner ruled Ledger died on Jan. 22 of an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs, including the two painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication. The federal Drug Enforcement Administration has subpoenaed the medical examiner’s findings as part of its probe into the doctors, the sources said.
Ledger’s death stunned Hollywood’s elite and left actress Michelle Williams, the mother of his 2-year-old daughter, devastated. Williams and Ledger had shared a townhouse in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. When they split up last summer, he moved into the Broome St. loft where he died.
Two private memorial services were held in Los Angeles before Ledger’s body was flown to his hometown of Perth, Australia, where loved ones remembered him in a star-studded funeral service on Feb. 8.
The following day, Williams and about 50 of the actor’s closest friends dived into the ocean at his favorite beach in an emotional final farewell.

Lindsay Lohan Blames “This Industry” for Heath Ledger’s Untimely Death

Lindsay Lohan, who was once linked to Heath Ledger and was spotted crying after his passing, is speaking out on the late actor’s death.
In the new issue of New York magazine, the actress, 21, poses nearly naked for a recreation of “The Last Sitting,” the last series of photos of Marilyn Monroe.
Lohan calls Monroe’s suicide “tragic,” adding, “you know, it’s also tragic what just recently happened to someone else.”
Asked if she’s referring to Ledger, Lohan replies, “They are both prime examples of what this industry can do to someone.”
Still, the star, who’s been in rehab three times, insists she will not end up like them.
“I’m not them … I sure as hell wouldn’t let it happen to me,” she tells the magazine.
Ledger died of a prescription drug overdose last month. He was in the middle of shooting his final film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Farrell have recently signed on the replace him.
