Jamie Foxx is currently working on his fourth LP but bosses at J Records/RCA were said to be unhappy with some of the material, so asked Timberlake for his input.
A source said: “There were some issues with Jamie’s album. Bosses at the label were not happy with the initial tracks, so Justin was asked to help co-write and perform on more songs.
“Timberlake has collaborated on at least three tracks – including the first release, titled ‘Winner’, which is now getting a good reaction on radio play.”
Bosses were reportedly concerned Oscar-winning actor Foxx would be offended by the ‘SexyBack’ singer having greater involvement, but he is said to have taken it quite well.
The source added to the New York Post: “There was some worry that upping Justin’s input would upset Jamie’s famous ego, but so far it has gone well. But he was a little upset the label chiefs were insisting on changing his material to ensure there were more hits.
“The album has been delayed twice. It was due for release in April, then pushed back to June and then delayed again.”
A J Records said: “Jamie started working on this album last November, and Justin was involved from the start. Jamie and Justin have completed three tracks. The album has been delayed to July 20, but everyone is happy with the material.”

Rapper Ludacris has teamed up with actor Jamie Foxx to help raise awareness of HIV and AIDS – by encouraging youngsters to discuss the disease.
The duo is taking part in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s I Know campaign, which uses social networking sites to convince African-Americans aged 18 to 24 to discuss the virus.
Both Ludacris and Foxx will use their Facebook.com and Twitter.com pages to promote the cause and convince their fans to join up, as well as recording radio and online announcements about the crusade.
In one public service announcement, Ludacris says, “HIV isn’t his problem or her problem. It’s all of our problem. The facts are clear. African-Americans, especially young people, are being devastated by HIV and AIDS. But there is something we can all do about it. We can and must talk about HIV. So break the silence by having a conversation. Send a text. Update your status. Post this video. Talk about HIV and what we can do to prevent it.”

Clueless star Stacey Dash has confirmed her new romance with Jamie Foxx – the pair enjoyed their “first date” at last week’s Oscars.
The actress recently filed for divorce from her husband Emmanuel Xuereb, who she married in 2007.
She sparked speculation of a new relationship with Foxx when she accompanied him to the Academy Awards, and stayed by his side at the Vanity Fair after party.
Now, the 44-year-old beauty has revealed the Ray actor asked her out after she appeared on his U.S. radio show – and admits they really “like each other”.
She said, “I did his radio show The Foxxhole and after the show he said, ‘Do you want to go with me to some parties Sunday night, Oscar night?’ I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, sure’. And then he texted me and it was for real.
“He sent a car for me and then I picked him up. He wasn’t ready though. His family was there. It was all very, very wholesome. A real first date. We’re friends. We like each other. He’s a nice guy.”

New couple alert – or desperate publicity stunt?
Jamie Foxx appeared on Oscar’s red carpet Sunday night with the beautiful (but much forgotten) Stacey Dash, causing waves of whispers and a flurry of camera flashes.
Why?
First, Stacey just decided to split from her third husband, Emmanuel Xuereb, and spoke about it on – wait for it – Foxx’s radio show, “The Foxxhole,” on Sirius XM on Friday.
The “Clueless” actress, whose rep had no comment on the matter, married Xuereb in 2007, but Stacey says the two have “grown apart” over the past three years.
So how’d she score the hot date?
Ms. Dash happens to be well connected in the music biz – she’s the first cousin of Damon Dash, the former CEO and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records. The male Dash and Foxx have both a personal and professional relationship since they worked together on “Gold Digger,” Foxx’s smash-hit collaboration with Kanye West from 2005.

“People are saying Jamie and Stacey hooking up is a win-win situation,” says an insider. “It’s good for Jamie’s music career to be on good terms with Damon, and Stacey wouldn’t have snagged an invite to the Oscars without Jamie.”
Our insider adds that the photo ops are a bonus for Stacey, who, rumor has it, is attempting to restart her career.
She was certainly in the right place for it on Sunday night – after the awards show, she and Foxx were spotted at the exclusive Vanity Fair after-party, where they chatted with Heidi Klum, along with pregnant “Precious” star Paula Patton and her crooning hubby, Robin Thicke.
“They looked very much like an item, and Jamie was introducing her to everyone,” says one L.A. partygoer. “They seemed to be thorougly enjoying each other’s company.”
But at least one naysayer questions the relationship. Says one industry source: “Before Sunday night, no one had ever seen them together or heard that they even knew each other.”

Jamie Foxx spent the night flirting with gorgeous Olivia Munn at the Hollywood Domino Gala the other night.
“Foxx looked enthralled,” a spy told us.
“He appeared to be taking her number before they left the party together, along with her female friend.”
Munn recently split from “How to Make It in America” star Brian Greenberg.
The event at bar210 was to benefit Paul Haggis’ Artists for Peace & Justice’s work in Haiti.
Demi Moore spilled a drink down the front of her strapless gown on arrival, and spent the rest of the night wearing Ashton Kutcher’s jacket.

Jamie Foxx wanted to entertain a group of musically inclined high school students with a few bars from his Grammy winning hit, “Blame It.”
But since the song is an ode to the effects of alcohol, he changed the lyrics to “Blame it on the a-a-a-apple juice.” The kids roared.
“I changed it so you guys could sing it,” he joked.
Students from four high schools gathered Tuesday at Walt Disney Concert Hall, where Foxx helped present new violins, flutes, French horns, trumpets and drums valued at $500,000 to students from 16 schools nationwide.
The instruments are part of the Fidelity FutureStage program, an effort by the investment firm to enrich arts education in public schools.
Founded in 2006, the program provides instruments, specialized training by professional musicians, and a chance for aspiring artists to perform with renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Boston Pops.
Foxx told students he began as a classical pianist and eventually won a scholarship to study the instrument in college.
“That allowed me to come to L.A. and work on my craft,” he said. “Then I went into acting and comedy, and then it was Ray Charles …”
Foxx, 42, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Charles in “Ray,” got the crowd fired up and had them chanting “mu-sic, mu-sic” before students came on stage to accept shiny new saxophones, clarinets and other instruments.
“This is way better than our old stuff,” one student said.
Dominic Monaghan hosted the program, which was simulcast in Boston, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles. Students in all four cities performed and received donated instruments.
After the program, Foxx praised Fidelity for stepping in where public funding had failed. He also encouraged other companies to participate.
“Even if a kid is not going to be the greatest musician in the world, just the fact that you gave him something, the fact that you said, ‘hey, I care about you,’ that’s what it’s about,” Foxx said.
