“Entourage” star Jeremy Piven is channeling his crass-talking character Ari Gold off set.

The actor stirred up some pre-Super Bowl trash talk when he was caught on tape calling Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger “Ben Rapist-berger.”

Piven was talking sports during some downtime last week at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, when he said the Super Bowl, set for Feb. 6, would have been a better with the New York Jets and his hometown favorites, the Chicago Bears on the field.

“Now its Rapist-berger and the cheese heads,” Piven said, referring to Sunday’s Steelers-Packers matchup.

“The cheesy rape burger,” he then riffed, drawing chuckles from another man in the room.

The video was posted on TMZ.com.

Piven was referencing charges in 2010 and 2009 from women who claimed Roethlisberger sexually assaulted them.

Big Ben was never charged by police, but he was suspended by the NFL for violating the league’s conduct policy.

It appears the “Old School” star never intended the comments for public consumption.

“He just videotaped that?” Piven says, after the “cheesy” remarks, pointing at the TMZ camera.

“Is that ok?” the cameraman responded.

“Oh no,” Piven moaned, before leaving the room in a sulk.

Jeremy Piven has become good pals with teenage superstar Miley Cyrus after striking up an unlikely friendship on the set of their new movie SO UNDERCOVER.

The Entourage star appears alongside Cyrus and Kelly Osbourne in the film, and he admits even he was surprised at just how well he got along with the 18-year-old Hannah Montana singer/actress.

He tells Eonline.com, “I think I must be an 18-year-old girl because we got along really well. It was just so much fun. I had so much fun with her and we had great chemistry. I was really, really weird – we’re like polar opposites.”

And Piven has defended Cyrus against criticism for being a bad role model to her young fans, after she came under fire in December when film footage of her smoking a huge pipe, believed to contain the legal high Salvia, was posted online.
The 45-year-old actor insists Cyrus is behaving just like any other teen her age.

He says, “You know, you can judge her, but what were you doing when you were 18? She’s kind of amazing. There’s something so incredibly refreshing about someone who is exactly who they are. There’s nothing pretentious about her. She’s this force. She loves to laugh.”

The new pals demonstrated their friendship during a wrap party for So Undercover earlier this week, when Cyrus took to the microphone with Piven on drums for an impromptu performance of I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Yesterday afternoon Bing Bar hosted The 2011 Creative Coalition Teachers Making a Difference Awards Luncheon presented by Bing. The purpose of the event was to recognize outstanding teachers and support for education. Cheryl Hines hosted the event as Adrian Grenier and Jeremy Piven were reunited with the teachers who made a difference in their lives. The event was truly moving as both actors reflected on how these teachers served as mentors and helped make them who they are today.

If you ask Mr. Shifman, a drama teacher at NY’s prestigious LaGuardia High School, what he thought then 11th/12th grade student Adrian Grenier would end up doing with his life, you’d be surprised by his answer. “He had long hair, was good looking… I figured he’d be a gigolo or Chip and Dales dancer” Schifman joked to actress Cheryl Hines at Bing Bar in Park City. The drama teacher was reunited with his former student Adrian Grenier during The Creative Coalition’s 2011 Teachers Making a Difference Awards Luncheon, an event presented by Bing to honor education’s heroes. Schifman, who Grenier calls his “strong force of positive influence” expressed how impressed he is with the talented actor Adrian has become. “Anything I would say about his career, he is doing it. He will be my mentor.” The greatest lesson Grenier learned? The “lesson of empathy. All of the selfish things you go through, the “me, me, me,” doesn’t have a place in mentoring.”

As far as becoming a gigolo, Grenier said “Well, Entourage is almost over…”

During an emotional afternoon at Bing Bar in Park City, Jeremy Piven fought back tears as he discussed what it was like having his own mother as his mentor. “I’m about to cry like a grandmother on my knees right now,” joked Piven, during The Creative Coalition’s 2011 Teachers Making a Difference Luncheon. “The hardest role I’ve ever had is not crying right now.” The purpose of the event was to join together actors with their teachers to pay tribute to education’s heroes. Fellow “Entourage” co-star Adrian Grenier paid tribute to his high school drama teacher as well. Mrs. Piven retold charming anecdotes of Jeremy’s training and childhood, including the time she learned he’d be performing his first Shakespeare role. “Did he read his lines? This is going to be a disaster,” she joked. Jeremy turned to the audience and said “this coming from the woman I studied under for 10 years.” As Piven presented his mother with the award, he stressed one last time how education runs deep in his family. “My mom grabbed Michelle Obama by the arm, looked her in the eyes and said ‘don’t forget about the arts.’”

Jeremy Piven got himself into another sushi drama Saturday night in Chicago — he dropped his BlackBerry down the toilet at restaurant Sunda.

The “Entourage” star, who purportedly suffered from mercury poisoning in 2008, stuck to vegetarian rolls at the Asian eatery owned by entrepreneur Billy Dec.

Staff members fished the phone out and packed it in a bag of rice to help dry it out. Later, Piven and Dec headed to Rockut Bar & Grill.

Piven’s rep didn’t get back to us.

Piven’s parents, Byrne and Joyce, are both actors-turned-drama teachers and the TV star admits he’s still reaping the benefits of having such a supportive family background.

And the 44 year old is grateful to have his mum on hand to give advice whenever he needs a helping hand with his role as ruthless sports agent Ari Gold – because she isn’t offended by his character’s foul mouth.

He tells New York Post columnist Cindy Adams, “(Mom) gives it to me straight. When we began Entourage, I took her to an advance screening. My character swears a lot. Says terrible things. Another parent would be taken aback. She breaks through it all and just sees the character. She just sees the work.

“And she’s the greatest to run lines with. She’s so good, I get spoiled.”

Jeremy Piven struggled to deliver his lines during a sexy scene with a stripper in THE GOODS: LIVE HARD, SELL HARD – because the beauty ended up almost strangling him with her legs.

The Entourage actor starred in the 2009 comedy, and is seen canoodling with a stripper in one scene – but the shoot was more difficult than it appeared for Piven.

He explains, “She scissored my head with her legs and started jamming my neck. The problem is I had this massive monologue and she’s wrenching my neck and cutting off all the oxygen to my brain.

“It’s an interesting experiment because when you have a massive monologue you obviously have to stay on top of your lines, rattle it off and make it look improvisational.

“But when you have no oxygen, it’s a bit of a problem. So it was a challenge and it was really fun and difficult at the same time.”
