Jessica Simpson has confirmed what photos have indicated – she’s having a baby.

The 31-year-old entertainer Tweeted a photo of herself Monday dressed as a mummy for Halloween, holding her baby bump with the words, “It’s true. I am going to be a mummy.”

It will be the first child for Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson. The two announced their engagement last year.

Her pregnancy has been rumored for weeks, and recently, photos of Simpson – with a bulging bump – have appeared.

Pregnancy won’t slow Simpson down. She’s signed up to be a mentor on the upcoming NBC reality show “Fashion Star” alongside Nicole Richie.

Jessica Simpson is in no rush to say “I do.”

Despite previously planning to walk down the aisle by end of year, the singer-turned-designer has put her wedding to fiance Eric Johnson on hold.

“Everything is up in the air,” a source told Us Weekly. “She can’t figure out what kind of day she wants. Some days she wants a big wedding in Hawaii, then other days she wants something closer to home.”

Simpson, 31, and Johnson, 32, got engaged last November after six months of dating.

The “Fashion Star” mentor’s indecisiveness to choose a wedding venue may not be the only concern, however.

“She was so gung ho about planning their wedding, and now she’s gone dark,” a friend said. “She won’t commit to a date.”

But instead of the bride having cold feet, some speculate Simpson is actually putting wedding plans on hold for some bigger news.

According to In Touch, the blond beauty is expecting her first child.

“She’s the happiest she’s ever been,” an insider told the mag, adding that a doctor confirmed the happy news on Sept. 19.

Simpson was reportedly so shocked when she first learned she was expecting via a home pregnancy test earlier this month, she took nine more tests to make sure.

“When the first test came back positive, she called a close friend and asked her to buy several more tests and rush them over,” the friend said.

“She’s already having kooky cravings … which satisfy her urge for salty and sweet,” the friend added, listing nacho chips dipped in chocolate, cheese-flavored popcorn and non-alcoholic margaritas among Simpson’s current favorites.

As for Johnson, he is said to be thrilled he’s going to be a father.

“He told her he wasn’t happy — he was ecstatic beyond words,” the friend said.

The singer-and-actress – who is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson – is reportedly unhappy with her large boobs and believes downsizing her assets before tying the knot will help her to look better in her wedding dress.
A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: “She thinks if she downsizes her breasts, she will look smaller. She’s never loved having a huge chest.”

Jessica, 31, has previously admitted she struggled to cope with her massive bust when she was younger and admitted she considered strapping down her breasts to make them look smaller.

She said: “I was well-endowed when I was in sixth grade. There’s no way to hide them, as much as you want to bandage your boobs down.

“I was the first girl in my class to wear a bra. I remember crying in the bathtub. All my friends were super-skinny.”

Jessica – who was previously married to Nick Lachey – is also determined to get in shape for her nuptials by following her own exercise regime.

She said: “I am going to dance around my bedroom and hopefully lose some weight – and lift some weights and do what I can!

“I just have to work out on my own. There is no regimen I need to follow. There’s no diet I need to follow. I just need to do some things for myself and that’s it. And that will make me feel the happiest.”

As the saying goes, one person’s loss is another person’s gain.

Jessica Simpson has recently adopted fiancé Eric Johnson’s dog, an Airedale terrier named Bentley.

But, in an interesting twist, the pooch was once shared by Johnson and his ex-wife, Keri, who split in October 2009, according to Us Weekly. Johnson got the dog after the separation.

“He’s the best dog. I love him to death,” Simpson, 30, told People.com. “At first he would growl at me, and now he comes and snuggles up to me. It’s like I have a brand new dog.”

This comes at a good time for Simpson, who tragically lost her five-year-old Maltipoo, named Daisy, to a coyote back in September 2009.

“My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes,” she wrote on Twitter at the time. “Horror!”

Daisy was a gift from ex-husband Nick Lachey and quickly became the singer-turned-fashion designer’s constant companion.

Simpson and Johnson, who became engaged last November, has yet to set a formal date for their upcoming nuptials, but has said they hope to wed by Christmas of this year.

She explained: “I just have to work out on my own. There is no regimen I need to follow. There’s no diet I need to follow. I just need to do some things for myself and that’s it. And that will make me feel the happiest.”

Jessica is also thinking about what dress she will wear and can’t make up her mind which one to choose.

The beauty told Us Weekly magazine: “I’m still trying to figure out what to wear! I don’t know if I want the big boom, or the curvy thing, but it will be something beautiful.”

Whatever she chooses is likely to be revealing, with the ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star recently saying she wants to show off her assets.

Using the French term for neckline, she said: “I have a long neck, so I like to show off my decolletage.”

The singer-and-actress was asked by the US First Lady – the wife of President Barack Obama – to perform on Wednesday at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, and admits it’s a “huge honor”.

She told UsMagazine.com: “The First Lady asked me to sing for the troops. That’s a huge honor for me. Just to be there and show my support and say thank you.”

Jessica’s performance is just one of event taking place as part of Michelle and Dr. Jill Biden’s initiative to honor America’s service members.

During the national two-day tour, the women will travel to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, San Antonio, Texas, Denver and Columbus, Ohio, to “highlight the work of Americans who have answered the call to serve our military families to showcase ways all Americans can serve them, from teachers and business leaders, to neighbors and volunteers”.

This is not the first time Jessica has shown her support for the troops.

Last year, she performed for sailors on board the USS Harry S. Truman in the Persian Gulf.

She may have lost some of her lustre when it comes to record sales, but Jessica Simpson reigns supreme in the fashion world.

The singer-turned fashion designer’s clothing line raked in an astonishing $750 million dollars in sales last year, making it the top selling celebrity clothing empire.

The 30-year-old celebrated by posing for a playful – and revealing – photo shoot for New York magazine.

‘I never thought I’d be some fashion mogul!’ she admits in the accompanying interview.

When asked why her brand is so successful, she replied: ‘When it comes to other celebrity brands, I think a lot of people do a great job, but it can’t be all about them. Everybody doesn’t want to just look like the celebrity, because they can’t. They just want one element of that style.’

She also told the magazine she plans to launch new ready-to-wear and career separates lines.

The Texas native launched her Jessica Simpson Collection in 2007 with a line of handbags, shoes and boots.

She has since expanded it to include watches, clothing, cosmetics, luggage, bathing suits, and fragrances, which are all sold in major department stores across America.

According to fashion blog thefashionistaforum.com her sales have risen by almost a quarter in the last 12 months.

That would put her in the same league American fashion titans Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Vera Wang and Donna Karan.

In the interview, Jessica also opens up about her engagement to former NFL player Eric Johnson, and described his marriage proposal.

‘It felt great for somebody to be on his knee and I had to sit on that knee because I was so excited and overwhelmed,’ she said.

Jessica has not yet revealed a wedding date – or who will be designing her wedding gown.

The singer, who has her own successful clothing label, has teamed up with wedding outfitters David’s Bridal to release the special occasion gowns, which range in price from $139 to $229.

And the blonde beauty is confident there will be something for everybody.
