David Letterman and Sen. John McCain will get a chance to make up.
The Republican presidential candidate is scheduled to appear on Letterman’s “Late Show” on Thursday.
It will be McCain’s 13th visit to the CBS program but his first since he angered Letterman by canceling last month.
Letterman was unhappy when McCain sat for an interview with Katie Couric instead of him on Sept. 24.
At the time he said he first felt like a “patriot” to let McCain off his commitment to deal with the economy but “now I’m feeling like an ugly date.”
A McCain spokeswoman said at the time that because of the economic crisis, the campaign “felt this wasn’t a night for comedy.”

The hip-hop star met the Republican presidential candidate last month on the set of “Saturday Night Live,” where Jeezy performed his verse from Usher’s hit, “Love in This Club.” During the show’s closing credits, McCain was seen embracing the rapper. “No disrespect to my man Barack, but I [bleeped] with John McCain. He greeted me like a god,” Jeezy, who has endorsed Barack Obama, tells Vibe magazine. “The fact that he acknowledged me was crazy. I said, ‘I’m Young Jeezy, and it’s rough out here.’ He blew me off at first. I was like, ‘Nah, for real. It’s rough out here, so what you gonna do to change it?’ . . . And he gave me a look back, like, ‘I know.’ ”

McCain’s Camp Responds: Reports He Called Wife C-Word Are ‘Tabloid Trash’

Momlogic.com spoke with Cliff Schechter this morning about the explosive claims revealed in his new book, “The Real McCain,” that Senator John McCain called his wife the c-word. “First of all, I wouldn’t have put this in my book if I wasn’t 100% confident that it was true,” the author said. “I heard this story from multiple sources, and little details matched up exactly when I talked to more than one person. And McCain has never denied the story directly, and I would bet you any amount of money that he never will.”
In response to Schechter’s claims, John McCain aide Tucker Boundes told Momlogic.com, “This is tabloid trash. It has no basis in fact. It calls into question the journalists that report on this.”
