TLC has settled a breach of contract lawsuit against reality TV star Jon Gosselin, the network said Wednesday. TLC sued Gosselin in October, claiming he failed to meet his obligations as an exclusive employee of the network while appearing on rival networks’ programs for pay and making unauthorized public disclosures about the show.
Gosselin filed a countersuit claiming TLC violated Pennsylvania’s child labor laws in filming “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” The show followed Gosselin, his wife, Kate, and their eight children – twins and sextuplets – at their home in Wernersville, Pa. They became tabloid fixtures when their marriage dissolved, and the show ended last year.
TLC spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg said Wednesday that all terms of the settlement are confidential and the network will take steps to conclude litigation.
The original suit was filed in Montgomery County, Md., in October. It sought unspecified compensatory damages and demanded Gosselin return income gained as a result of his alleged breaches of the agreement and refrain from future violations. In the countersuit, Gosselin sought more than $5 million in damages.
Mark Jay Heller, Gosselin’s attorney, said the settlement was filed Wednesday and Gosselin did not appear in court. He said Gosselin is hopeful that the network will move forward with the “best interests” of the family.
“Jon has expressed his desire to close the litigation chapter of ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8,’ he said. “Sometimes litigants that kiss and make up find their relationship is much better the second time around. As Jon’s attorney, I truly hope this new adventure for TLC and the Gosselins is a much more joyful journey.”
Heller did not disclose details of the agreement and would not say whether Gosselin would be allowed to appear again on the network. Asked whether the countersuit is still ongoing, he said: “All litigation has come to an end.”
Goldberg, the TLC spokeswoman, said the whole Gosselin family remains under contract with the network.
“We have announced that we’re working on a show with Kate,” she said. “That’s all that’s in the works at this time.”
TLC is owned by Silver Spring, Md.-based Discovery Communications.
Jon Gosselin is making a spectacle of himself – again.
The reality television celebutard has invaded the Sundance Film Festival, with his latest girlfriend, Morgan Christie, on his arm as he snags freebies at swag lounges and clubs in Park City, Utah.
And according to UsMagazine.com, it’s not a pretty sight.
An onlooker at the House of Hype party at Cisero said the new couple were spotted making out and flaunting their new relationship in public.
“Tons of PDA, holding hands, kissing. They kept walking around, it’s not like they tried to be discreet and stay in a corner,” said the spy, adding that Gosselin’s new gal pal was “super clingy and got jealous when he talked to other girls.”
Though Christie, a law school student, is 25, she “looked anywhere from 19 to 23. Anyone who saw them remarked how inappropriate it was. Gosselin seemed to love the attention,” said the source.
But the trip hasn’t entirely been all play and no work for the divorced father of eight.
Gosselin, 32, is reportedly in town “taking meetings about walk-on movie roles.”
Though he hasn’t made the move from reality television star to big screen actor, Gosselin is apparently already expecting the red carpet treatment.
“Jon and Morgan are really making a spectacle of themselves,” an insider told Fox411.com. “He has turned into a total diva. He and Morgan have been setting themselves up at free events each day, they request security teams to help them and make sure the paparazzi are around to catch them.”
The couple, who are reportedly staying at a home owned by Christie’s wealthy family near Park City, Utah, first met during an earlier snowboarding trip in the same town in January.

While at war with his ex-fiancée Erin Muller, Michael Lohan has been hanging out with Jon Gosselin’s ex, Kate Major.
Lohan and Major, a former reporter for Star magazine, were spotted at a string of bars in Chicago Sunday night and at an Asian eatery on Tuesday.
A spy said, “They partied until very late Sunday. On Tuesday, they went for dinner at restaurant Sunda and went outside for a cigarette. Kate kept talking about a ring that Michael bought her. She was wearing it on her middle finger. They then got chatting to a girl who looked just like Ali Lohan. Before they went inside, Michael told the lookalike, ‘You are a very beautiful girl.’ ” Lohan told us last night, “Kate and I are friends. She went to Chicago to visit her family after Christmas, and I had business in Chicago.”

Jon Gosselin allegedly slammed his departing girlfriend Hailey Glassman against the wall of their Manhattan apartment after he saw a photo of her kissing “Celebrity Boxing” promoter Damon Feldman.
“That picture started the whole thing, a picture of her kissing another man,” a source said.
Earlier, Glassman had “found out he was cheating on her. She told him it was over,” the source said. Glassman filed a harassment complaint with the NYPD, saying “she was pushed against [a] wall” on Dec. 20 and verbally abused by Gosselin, a charge under investigation by cops. “The document speaks for itself,” said Glassman’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia. “Jon is a lover, not a fighter,” said Gosselin’s lawyer, Mark Heller. “He’s been rumored to steal a kiss here and there, but he has never been accused of landing a sucker punch.”
Hailey Glassman Says The Break In At Jon Gosselin’s Apartment Was A Set Up

Reality TV star Jon Gosselin’s ex-flame claimed Sunday that she was being framed for trashing the dad-turned-cad’s upper West Side apartment as part of a “huge publicity stunt.”
Gosselin’s former live-in girlfriend Hailey Glassman was questioned by cops about the burglary in which someone left a handwritten note purportedly signed by her at the posh pad.
Glassman, 22, who recently split up with the “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star moved out Wednesday. She denied looting the flat on W. 72nd St. at Broadway.
No one has been charged.
“They weren’t able to prove it was her [Glassman], but they are still looking at her,” said a police source, adding detectives found no sign of forced entry.
Gosselin’s lawyer pressed cops Sunday to find the “sick perpetrator” who trashed the apartment while Gosselin was away for Christmas visiting his family.
A vindictive note bearing Glassman’s name was attached to butcher knife speared into a bedroom dresser, cops said. Gosselin’s clothes, shoes, bed, curtains and rug also were slashed to shreds with a butcher knife, and a 100-year-old Ming vase was shattered.
“Somebody appears to be trying to frame her,” her lawyer Anand Ahuja said. “It appears to be a huge, huge, publicity stunt and nothing else.”
Ahuja refused to speculate if Gosselin was behind the break-in, but said the ex-TLC network darling told Glassman’s mother that he was being evicted because he was behind on the $5,000-a-month rent.
Glassman posted on Twitter Friday that she and Gosselin, 32, split the rent and that “he’s been pocketing our rent money.”
Gosselin – whose divorce from Kate Gosselin, the mother of his eight children, was just finalized – “was horrified” by the break-in, lawyer Mark Heller said.

Jon Gosselin’s new digs on the upper West Side were ransacked Saturday, leaving his clothes and furniture slashed, sources said.
Somebody wielding a butcher knife tore through the entire apartment and “speared” a note – signed by “Hailey Glassman,” his gal pal – to Gosselin’s dresser with the blade, according to TMZ.
The assailant sliced through Gosselin’s shoes, shirts, curtains and other furnishings with the knife, sources said.
A television, CD player and a Nintendo Wii game were also found smashed to pieces inside the flat of the former “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star, sources said.
A Ming vase, possibly “over 100 years old,” was also destroyed, Gosselin’s lawyer told TMZ.
Investigators photographed and fingerprinted the apartment for clues, and although Glassman’s name was written on the note left by the vandal, it doesn’t necessarily mean she is responsible, sources said.
Gosselin has been living in the high-rise apartment since leaving his wife, Kate. Their divorce was finalized recently.

Jon and Kate Gosselin officially divorced Friday after 10 years of marriage, eight children and a year of tabloid headlines.
Kate Gosselin gets the family home in eastern Pennsylvania in the no-fault divorce agreement, according to her lawyer, Mark Momjian. She will also continue as the primary caretaker of the reality TV couple’s 9-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets.
“Divorce is always a difficult process, and in this case there’s obviously the added challenge of being a celebrity and having to deal with the reality of such a large family,” Momjian told The Associated Press. “But I know she is very excited about restructuring her life and looking forward to the new year.”
Jon’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, was traveling Friday and not available for comment, a spokesman said. The divorce agreement was first reported by TMZ.com.
The Gosselins – he is 32, she is 34 – worked out custody arrangements themselves but let an arbiter decide financial issues, Momjian said.
They filed for divorce in June, the same month they told viewers of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ about the split in an episode seen by more than 10 million people.
At the time, the Gosselins said the show had been a good thing for both them and their children, and they denied it played a role in their divorce. However, Jon Gosselin later insisted that the network stop filming his children, thwarting plans to segue the show into “Kate Plus Eight” and focus on her role as a single parent.
TLC has said it is developing a show for her that could debut this spring. Details have not been disclosed.
The network, meanwhile, has sued Jon Gosselin for breach of contract over allegedly paid appearances on rival networks, as well as over other issues.
The couple spoke on their show of plans to take turns with the children in their sprawling new home in Wernersville, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia. However, Momjian declined to say whether that remains the plan.
“This is her home now,” Momjian said. However, he added, “she clearly wants the children to be involved in both parents’ lives.”
In a statement issued by her lawyer’s firm, Kate Gosselin called the marital breakup difficult.
“I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the new year, focusing on the children,” said Kate Gosselin, a former nurse. “This has been a challenging transition for all of us.”
Momjian called Kate Gosselin “a very responsible parent.”
“She is fully confident that the children’s needs, both financially and emotionally, are being taken care of,” he said.
The final “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ episode aired Nov. 23 and showed the parents taking their children on separate outings.
Jon & Kate divorce likely final in 2010

Jon and Kate Gosselin will likely ring in the new year as husband and wife as they await a final divorce decree.
A lawyer for Jon Gosselin says the reality TV couple’s divorce is not likely to be finalized until early next year.
Mark Jay Heller tells The Associated Press that the arbiter’s decisions on custody and finances is “a work in progress.” He says the couple has not signed off on it.
The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ stars, the parents of eight children, are divorcing after 10 years of marriage.
The divorce is pending in Pennsylvania’s Montgomery County, although the family home is in neighboring Berks County.
Heller says the divorce arbiter’s decisions will be final.
A spokeswoman for Kate Gosselin’s lawyers did not immediately return messages Wednesday.

A Maryland judge is ruling in the dispute between Jon Gosselin and the TLC network that the father must stop making media appearances that are at odds with his contract.
Montgomery County Circuit Judge Michael D. Mason ruled Thursday following a one-day hearing.
TLC Chief Operating Officer Edward Sabin testified that Gosselin made unauthorized appearances and endorsements. In particular, he mentioned a pool party that Gosselin hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Sabin says photos from the event were at odds with the wholesome image of the show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
Gosselin did not appear in court, and his lawyers did not present any evidence.
The judge granted a preliminary injunction. A trial is scheduled for April 19.
