Jon and Kate Gosselin officially divorced Friday after 10 years of marriage, eight children and a year of tabloid headlines.

Kate Gosselin gets the family home in eastern Pennsylvania in the no-fault divorce agreement, according to her lawyer, Mark Momjian. She will also continue as the primary caretaker of the reality TV couple’s 9-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets.

“Divorce is always a difficult process, and in this case there’s obviously the added challenge of being a celebrity and having to deal with the reality of such a large family,” Momjian told The Associated Press. “But I know she is very excited about restructuring her life and looking forward to the new year.”

Jon’s lawyer, Mark Jay Heller, was traveling Friday and not available for comment, a spokesman said. The divorce agreement was first reported by TMZ.com.

The Gosselins – he is 32, she is 34 – worked out custody arrangements themselves but let an arbiter decide financial issues, Momjian said.

They filed for divorce in June, the same month they told viewers of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ about the split in an episode seen by more than 10 million people.

At the time, the Gosselins said the show had been a good thing for both them and their children, and they denied it played a role in their divorce. However, Jon Gosselin later insisted that the network stop filming his children, thwarting plans to segue the show into “Kate Plus Eight” and focus on her role as a single parent.

TLC has said it is developing a show for her that could debut this spring. Details have not been disclosed.

The network, meanwhile, has sued Jon Gosselin for breach of contract over allegedly paid appearances on rival networks, as well as over other issues.

The couple spoke on their show of plans to take turns with the children in their sprawling new home in Wernersville, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia. However, Momjian declined to say whether that remains the plan.

“This is her home now,” Momjian said. However, he added, “she clearly wants the children to be involved in both parents’ lives.”

In a statement issued by her lawyer’s firm, Kate Gosselin called the marital breakup difficult.

“I am very relieved that our divorce has been finalized, and I look forward to the new year, focusing on the children,” said Kate Gosselin, a former nurse. “This has been a challenging transition for all of us.”

Momjian called Kate Gosselin “a very responsible parent.”

“She is fully confident that the children’s needs, both financially and emotionally, are being taken care of,” he said.

The final “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ episode aired Nov. 23 and showed the parents taking their children on separate outings.

Jon and Kate Gosselin will likely ring in the new year as husband and wife as they await a final divorce decree.

A lawyer for Jon Gosselin says the reality TV couple’s divorce is not likely to be finalized until early next year.

Mark Jay Heller tells The Associated Press that the arbiter’s decisions on custody and finances is “a work in progress.” He says the couple has not signed off on it.

The former “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ stars, the parents of eight children, are divorcing after 10 years of marriage.

The divorce is pending in Pennsylvania’s Montgomery County, although the family home is in neighboring Berks County.

Heller says the divorce arbiter’s decisions will be final.

A spokeswoman for Kate Gosselin’s lawyers did not immediately return messages Wednesday.

A Maryland judge is ruling in the dispute between Jon Gosselin and the TLC network that the father must stop making media appearances that are at odds with his contract.

Montgomery County Circuit Judge Michael D. Mason ruled Thursday following a one-day hearing.

TLC Chief Operating Officer Edward Sabin testified that Gosselin made unauthorized appearances and endorsements. In particular, he mentioned a pool party that Gosselin hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Sabin says photos from the event were at odds with the wholesome image of the show, “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”

Gosselin did not appear in court, and his lawyers did not present any evidence.

The judge granted a preliminary injunction. A trial is scheduled for April 19.

Jon Gosselin offered his estranged wife a bouquet of red roses at their divorce arbitration hearing over the weekend. She evidently turned them down. Despite the snub, the marathon session went so well that the feuding stars of “Jon & Kate Plus Eight” could be divorced by the end of the year, his attorney said Monday.

“Although there were many emotional moments throughout the process, Jon impressively put the best interests of his children above all and was extremely appropriate in his approach to the mediation,” Mark Heller said. “As a result of that, it came to a successful resolution.”

The couple met for more than six hours Saturday at a law office in the Philadelphia suburbs to discuss unresolved issues, including custody of their eight children and the distribution of marital property. Heller said a second day of arbitration planned for Monday is no longer needed. He said an arbitrator will rule by Christmas and that the divorce could be finalized by the close of 2009.

Heller declined to comment on the terms of the divorce.

As for the roses?

Heller said his client brought them “as a peace offering to try to melt down the freeze that he perceives to be coming from the other side.”

Kate Gosselin’s attorney had no immediate comment Monday.

The popular TLC series ends its run Monday night. It won a devoted following with its heartwarming look at the lives of a Pennsylvania couple raising twins and sextuplets. But the show fell apart after the Gosselins announced their split in June, and the couple’s acrimonious divorce has made them tabloid fixtures.

Despite claims of a split, Jon Gosselin is still sneaking around with girlfriend Hailey Glassman.

After being advised by Rabbi Schmuley Boteach to ditch her, Gosselin was out with her Saturday night at P.D. O’Hurley’s on West 72nd Street. Spies said the pair took refuge from the Halloween crowds in the restaurant.

A spy reports, “There were a few people dressed as Jon Gosselin in the bar and staff were ordered to keep the fake Jons away from him. Someone asked to take a picture but he said he wanted to be left alone. Once the crowds were away he and Hailey looked like a normal couple.”

Jon Gosselin is turning to a higher power.

The reality TV star admits that he has been meeting with a rabbi so he can “reconnect” with his “deeper, more spiritual, more altruistic self.”

In a statement, the embattled father of eight, embroiled in a tabloid war with estranged wife Kate Gosselin, now says that he got a bit “carried away by the challenges of fame.”

The 32-year-old dad, who recently claimed he is “half-Korean and half-Jewish,” went on to say that he was “troubled to learn that the media has accepted as true the scurrilous rumor that I would appear in a reality television program with Nadya Suleman.”

Referring to earlier rumors that the star had signed on to star side by side with Octomom in a dating show, Gosselin continues, “This is utterly false.”

But the partying father, who’s been spotted with a number of women since his split from Kate, adds, “I do, however, accept that some of my previous actions have in some way lent credence to such outrageous stories.

“I am well aware that my behavior over the past few months has not always reflected my personal and religious values,” he said. “I further accept that I have allowed myself to become somewhat severed from my own moral anchor and be carried away by the challenges of fame.”

In the statement, Gosselin goes on to say, “I wish for the public to know my regret at having, at times, betrayed the moral principles that have always guided me. I am committed to making things right with Kate and especially my children. I ask you to please give me the opportunity to prove myself.”

To rectify this, the octodad will appear at New York’s West Side Synagogue on Sunday to “publicly apologize in a sacred place to those whom I have hurt.”

The former star of “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ also stated he had been meeting with none other than Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who recently made headlines for his tell-all book, “The Michael Jackson Tapes”.

Jon Gosselin’s post-Kate relationship isn’t going too well – and that’s according to his new girlfriend.

Hailey Glassman tells the syndicated television magazine show “The Insider” that the one-time reality TV dad takes out his anger on her. She says he throws “mantrums.”

Adds the 22-year-old: “He’s like Jekyll and Hyde. But I still love him.”

In a statement to the show, Gosselin says he regretted “any pain that my actions have caused her” and that he was committed to making things right with Glassman, his ex-wife and kids.

Gosselin, who filed for divorce from wife Kate in June, was part of the TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus Eight,” chronicling their struggles raising eight children.

Glassman spoke to “The Insider” in a two-part interview airing Thursday and Friday.

The gossip apocalypse has arrived: Jon Gosselin and Nadya Suleman will be going on a date.

The “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ star has reportedly agreed to appear in a cheesy new reality show in which he’ll date Octomom Nadya Suleman, former “Cheaters” producer Bobby Goldstein told In Touch Weekly.

“I heard that Nadya has an insatiable desire to spend time with Jon and to put their families together,” Goldstein said. “And I had the idea that this could be a very entertaining fiasco.”

Though reps for both parties deny that any show is in the works, Goldstein says he will produce the pilot, called “Jon – Kate = Jon Octomom,” with a former producer of “The Jerry Springer Show.”

According to a press release, cameras will follow Gosselin “as he contemplates what hooking up with Octomom could really be like. He’s totally creeped out by the idea that if they got married, they’d have 22 kids.”

To increase the creep factor, the plotline for the 33-year-old single mom reveals that she will be so obsessed with the octodad, “she’s already talking openly about the two of them getting married.”

The press release continues, “It’s so bad that when they finally meet, Octomom’s brood may start calling Jon ‘Daddy.’ If this doesn’t make Jon lose it, then Octomom modeling her bikini body for him will.”

The odd couple’s scheduled rendezvous comes after Suleman embarrassingly admitted that she thought Gosselin is “hot.”

“I kind of have a crush on Jon Gosselin,” she gushed to RadarOnline.com.

While it’s no surprise Suleman is gung-ho to film the potential reality TV disaster, Gosselin’s decision to jump on board is rather surprising.

Not only is he in the midst of a heated court battle with his estranged wife, Kate, 32, he is still involved in a relationship with 23-year-old Hailey Glassman.

Regardless of personal issues, Goldstein believes the father of eight’s quest for fame trumps everything else. “I think that he wants to remain in the limelight,” he told In Touch. “Notoriety is a component that some humans place a lot of value on.”

He added, “It will be like watching a train wreck. You know you shouldn’t look, but you can’t turn your head away.”

And the saga continues . . .

Jon Gosselin is in “complete compliance” with a court order that he return $180,000 he took from a bank account he shared with wife Kate, his lawyer told People magazine on Friday.

Kate, however, is not compliant – at least according to Jon’s attorney.

“Unless something happens today, she will be going through contempt proceedings Monday,” lawyer Mark Heller told People.

Kate’s lawyer could not be reached for comment.

The feuding stars of TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ filed contempt motions against each other for allegedly violating guidelines regarding how their money should be spent in light of their impending divorce.

Earlier this month, a judge ordered both Gosselins return any money that was removed outside of those guidelines. Kate needed to account for about $55,000, but as of Friday, had yet to do so.

Heller refused to confirm whether Jon returned all $180,000 but told People, “I can tell you that we’ve done what we needed to do to extricate Jon from any issues concerning contempt.”

The couple announced they were divorcing back in June.
