The reality specials focusing on Kate Gosselin, her twin daughters and set of sextuplets morphed into a weekly series in its second season. But TLC announced Monday that its final episode will air Sept. 12.

The show was spun off from the wildly popular “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which co-starred the youngsters’ father, Jon Gosselin, at their home in Wernersville, Pa. Their marriage dissolved, and the couple divorced in 2009.

By the end of its run, including “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” the series will reach the 150-episode mark. TLC says it hopes to check in with Kate Gosselin and the family periodically with future specials.

The controversial reality star, 38, has been ordered to pay her former marriage therapist more than $10,000 after a dispute over a bill landed her in court.

The counselor, Sylvia Lafair, claimed she flew to Los Angeles at Gosselin’s request to counsel her and then-husband Jon Gosselin in March 2009.

The pair, whose declining marriage was cemented into TV history through TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” divorced in 2009 – and the therapist claimed she never received a dime.

Lafair sued last year over the unpaid fees for the services and travel.

Gosselin, however, testified last week that she never had a contract with Lafair, who heads Creative Energy Options in White Haven, Pa.

Gosselin lives about 50 miles away in Sinking Spring.

But Magisterial District Judge Gerald Feissner ruled May 13 that Gosselin must pay Lafair’s company about $10,300.

Gosselin’s attorney told The Standard-Speaker of Hazleton that he appealed on Tuesday.

Kate Gosselin, the reality television star who recently embarked on an unsuccessful camping trip with potential presidential candidate Sarah Palin, says she has political ambitions of her own, according to Popeater.com. Gosselin appeared on the latest episode of ‘Sarah Palin’s Alaska’, and despite not seeing eye-to-eye with the former Governor of Alaska, the 35-year-old says she would like to run for office some-day.

Gosselin, who is the mother of eight children, refused to spend the night camping with the Palins after complaining about the cold temperature and her ‘freezing toes’, but an insider claims that the reality star firmly believes she could match Palin in the world of politics, saying, “After meeting and spending time with Sarah, Kate realized that if she could run for office then so could Kate. Sarah does have a little bit more experience than Kate does in office but what they have in common is huge. They are both famous reality stars that you either love or hate. They both are beautiful and have a way of getting everyone’s attention”.

However, another source close to Gosselin admits that her political aspirations are a product of her inflated ego, saying, “Honestly, Kate is unbelievable. Her ego is out of control at this point. Ever since Dancing With the Stars and the fact that she appeared on more consecutive covers of US Weekly than any celebrity ever, she thinks that she has what it takes to run for office”.

Kate Gosselin is not a happy camper.

On this week’s edition of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” she and her brood make a much-anticipated guest appearance. But don’t expect it to reveal her inner Daniel Boone.

“How would you like to go camping with Kate and her eight kids – that TV show you watch?” Sarah Palin asks her daughter, Piper, at the start of the episode.

Piper squeals with delight at the idea of hanging with these stars of another TLC series.

As things develop, the camping trip in the Alaskan wilds will be no day at the beach for Kate. But it makes for a hilarious hour of Palin’s show, which airs on TLC Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.

Read no further if you don’t want spoiler details of Kate’s stab at roughing it.

For a few fleeting moments, it seems she will savor her visit with the Palin family. She instantly bonds with Sarah, as they compare notes on the predatory nature of the media.

“There’s not a whole lot of people that I run into that can understand the scrutiny (by) the media and beyond,” says Kate, whose crumbling marriage to Jon was documented on “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ while it spurred a feeding frenzy from the tabloid press.

Now, single mom Kate and her kids just happened to be in Alaska taping one of her “Kate Plus 8″ specials, which occasioned their guest spot with the Palins.

The first stop: Sarah takes Kate to a bear safety class to prepare her for their camping expedition.

On the road from Wasilla to the class in Anchorage, Sarah sort-of jokes that, in case of a bear attack, “You need a partner with you who’s slower than you.”

“Oh, my gosh!” replies Kate, who already was spooked by the bear rug in the Palins’ home. “Sacrifice your friends?”

At the rifle range, she looks more miserable than she used to look with Jon.

And that’s only the beginning.

The day of the camping trip, it’s – wouldn’t you know? – pouring rain.

Out in the middle of nowhere by a stream and surrounded by mountains, Sarah is smiling, chipper and (literally) loaded for bear.

“Rain or shine, Alaskans still camp. We still find a way to have fun,” she chirps.

Then Kate and her kids land at the campsite. Quickly, Kate proves to be a bigger pill than a horse tranquilizer.

“I’m not worrying about bears right now,” she is soon grousing. “I’m just worried about keeping my toes wiggling ’cause they’re freezing.”

Sarah, daughters Piper and Willow, husband Todd and other family members seem to be having a blast. So, for that matter, are Kate’s youngsters.

“The kids are having fun, so I’m tolerating it, but this is my new home,” grumbles Kate, having sullenly planted herself, apart from the rest, beneath a tarp. “I am miserable, but, I mean, somebody’s got to be.”

Sarah, ever gung-ho, announces to the group, “This is the most luxurious camping spot I’ve ever seen!”

Cut to Kate, who tells the camera, “It just kills me that people, like, willingly do this.”

Soon everybody else is enjoying hamburgers, hot-dogs and s’mores from the camp fire.

Maybe it was finding out the hot-dogs are moose. About that time, Kate loses it.

“I don’t see a table, I don’t see utensils, I don’t see hand-cleansing materials,” she whimpers. “This is not ideal conditions. I am freezing to the bone, I have 19 layers on, my hands are frigid. I held it together as long as I could and I’m done now!”

She gathers up her children and, mere hours after their arrival, they have eaten and run.

Fortunately, Sarah knows the show must go on. Minus the Gosselins, she settles the crowd down for the night.

“Well, I thought we were gonna go camping with the Gosselins,” she says when it’s all over, full of glossy good cheer. “Turned out, we didn’t. We had lunch with them on a sand bar.”

The Mama Grizzly made another one of America’s most famous (and prolific) mamas break down in tears.

During an episode of Sarah Palin’s reality show on TLC, octomom Kate Gosselin wells up while on a camping trip with the outdoorsy ex-vice presidential candidate.

The entire show will air on Dec. 12.

“I have never camped for real,” Gosselin admits in the episode’s trailer, released on Saturday by UsMagazine.com.

Previews show the strange duo roughing it in Palin’s native Alaska. Gosselin is seen hiking with her eight children, crying for decent food and watching fearfully as Palin shoots a gun.

“She’s going to be relying on me to protect her, Palin says.

But after a mental breakdown, Gosselin decides she’s had enough of the great outdoors and storms off the campsite after just two hours, the National Enquirer reported. The trip was supposed to last two days.

Gosselin, who divorced her kids’ father Jon last year, initially agreed to come on the show for her TLC series “Kate Plus 8.

“Come on! It wasn’t that bad!” the former Alaska governor lamented.

Despite reports earlier this month that her children were expelled from school, Kate Gosselin is saying it just isn’t true – but it may be a matter of semantics.

The reality star and mother of eight insists to “Entertainment Tonight” that six-year-olds Collin and Alexis were pulled – not forced – out of their school and are receiving the exact same education at home.

“Two of my children are being tutored at home, with a teacher who is working closely with our kindergarten teachers in school, doing the identical curriculum,” she explained.

Gosselin, 35, said the decision came after the kids felt “pressure” and had “the divorce anger mixed in with that.”

While she didn’t say how the two are now coping, Gosselin added that, “The goal is to get them back into school as soon as possible.”

All the kids, however, will be off for Thanksgiving, during which they’ll spend time with both mom and dad Jon.

“We have been able to work out the holiday time peacefully,” she revealed. “So I will have the first half, he will have the second half, and, we just take it year by year, and holiday by holiday.”

She is a busy mother with eight children to look after, so it’s little wonder that Kate Gosselin looked a little tired on her regular jog this weekend.

The 35-year-old reality show star was seen slowing to a walk a few times during her run – near her home in Pennsylvania.

Gosselin showed off her trim figure in a black T-shirt with the slogan ‘Try 2 Keep Up,’ along with black running shorts and white shoes.

She listened to music on her i-pod during the run, at one point slowing down to change the track.

The reality star was grabbing a break away from twins, Cara and Madelyn, ten, and six-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.

She often goes jogging to keep in shape, and recently took to her blog on TLC to post about her adventures: ‘The Craziest Things I’ve Seen While Running,’ – listing a bag of peanuts, dead snakes and gloves.

But the Kate Plus 8 star, who is divorced from ex-husband Jon Gosselin, said she is still looking for Mr Right.

‘Yeah, it’s a strange sort of entertainment when running along the road … you just never know what you’ll find,’ she wrote.

‘Still waiting for Mr. Right to be my next crazy find out there. Doubting I’ll find him along the road while I’m running, but I’ll never say never…’

Her hair extensions are worth $7000 and took 20 hours to put in, but Kate Gosselin’s high maintenance look appeared to in need of attention yesterday.

The reality TV star, 35, stepped out in New York with her hair half tied up, revealling the straggly joins of her fake tresses.

The 35-year-old previously sported a hybrid bob which was long at the front but short at the back.

It was widely criticized by fashion observers and in January she traded the look for a long blonde ‘do with the help of celebrity stylist Ted Gibson.

Kate, whose 10-year marriage to Jon, 33, had recently ended, said at the time: ‘It’s good to have hair again.

‘I never thought I’d have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life of course, finding time to maintain the can’t always be easy.

She is, after all, a single mother to eight children – 9-year-old twins Mady and Cara and 6-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel.

The star, who lives in rural Pennsylvania, is currently in New York promoting the new series of Kate Plus 8 which airs on Sunday.

She also met up with mogul Donald Trump, prompting speculation she’s being lined up for the next series of Celebrity Apprentice.

It can’t be easy being in charge of a brood of eight.

But Kate Gosselin showed us exactly how she does it when she took all her children out to buy ice cream this weekend.

The reality show star looked a bit like a drill sergeant as she tried to keep them in line on the family day out.

Twins Cara and Mady, aged nine, and six year old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel – certainly welcomed the sweet treats which their mum bought from a stand near their home in Wernersville, Pennsylvania.

Kate looked slim and toned as she showed off her tanned legs in a pair of beige shorts and a black T-short and flip flops.

Earlier on, she had taken the brood to a local Farming Centre to pick up supplies for their family’s new chicken coop.

The 35-year-old has had to cope with life as a single mom since splitting with husband Jon last year following his affair with the nanny.

He was dropped from the couple’s reality series Jon And Kate Plus eight, which has since been rebranded Kate Plus Eight.

In contrast, Kate has been busy – appearing as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars and this week preparing for The View.

The July 2 show will see her discussing fake tanning, summer foods and red, white & blue outfits for American Independence Day on July 4.

While Kate will soon also be premiering another reality show Twist of Kate, in which she takes on various new jobs, her ex-husband Jon is keen for his own slice of showbiz success.

‘It would be nice to have a job on television again,’ he told Us Magazine last week. ‘I’m not so sure about reality. I’m just exploring my options right now, meeting with certain people about different ideas. I can’t talk about it; you have to stay tuned.’
