Singer Lady Gaga says she doesn’t agree with Arizona’s tough immigration law and wrote the song “Americano” as a response to it.

Lady Gaga is in Mexico City for two concerts.

She said during a news conference Friday she has a strong relationship to Mexican culture, then added: “I don’t stand by many of those unjust immigration laws in my country.”

An immigration law passed last year allows Arizona police officers to question the immigration status of people they suspect are in the country illegally.

That provision and others in the southwestern U.S. state are on hold pending a court challenge.

A Lady Gaga concert in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday was marred by drama as an audience member suffered a cardiac arrest during the show.

Paramedics rushed to resuscitate Crystal Thornton, 33, after she collapsed during a performance by one Gaga’s opening acts at the city’s Bridgestone Arena.

Thornton’s heart was restarted using a portable defibrillator and she was subsequently airlifted to hospital. She is now expected to make a full recovery.

A statement from doctors at the Vanderbilt Medical Center reads, “The patient received incredible care from the moment she experienced problems at the Bridgestone Arena. It is only through a coordinated team effort that her successful outcome was possible.”

Meanwhile, Thornton has revealed she is disappointed to have missed seeing her idol perform, adding, “I am so mad I missed the concert.”

Lady Gaga has given pop parody performer Weird Al Yankovic permission to use his version of her Born This Way on his new album after he posted the track online despite a ban from her management.

According to reports, Gaga insisted on reviewing the track, Perform This Way, before agreeing to let Yankovic add it to his upcoming album. He agreed but her handlers refused him permission.

Unperturbed, the singing comic posted the song on his blog and on YouTube.

Defiant Yankovic said, “My parodies have always fallen under what the courts call ‘fair use’, and this one was no different, legally allowing me to record and release it without permission. But it has always been my personal policy to get the consent of the original artist before including my parodies on any album, so of course I will respect Gaga’s wishes.

“However, given the circumstances, I have no problem with allowing people to hear it online, because I also have a personal policy not to completely waste my stinking time.

“So I uploaded the song to YouTube, and will be making free mp3 downloads available on weirdal.com shortly. Hope you enjoy it.”

Sources close to Lady Gaga insist she did not shut down Weird Al over the parody – in fact she had not heard the song.

And late on Wednesday, Gaga gave her blessing to Yankovic’s parody, according to the performer’s manager.

When Yankovic posted the track on YouTube.com on Wednesday morning, he asked fans to donate to the Human Rights Campaign, an organization that supports gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered causes.

A desperate Lady Gaga fan has been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly killing her cat and using the dead pet’s blood to complete an outfit she planned to wear to one of her concerts.

Angelina Barnes, 20, had smeared her face and arms in the cat’s blood and was just about to leave her Oklahoma City home for a Gaga concert earlier this week when a relative walked in on her – and saw the carnage.

Local news station KFOR-TV reports the cat had been cut to pieces after Barnes drowned the pet in the bathroom.
The animal’s liver was found in a make-up case.

Barnes was taken to Griffin Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma, where she is receiving treatment after being diagnosed with depression.

Lady Gaga famously performed at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards covered in fake blood.

A Fake Lady Gaga had the “little monsters” of Miami freaking out that they were in the presence of the real pop icon on Sunday.

The imposter rolled up to Big Pink restaurant with four SUVs and a security detail of 10. Once her security did a sweep, the blonde look-alike enjoyed breakfast.

The poor man’s Gaga then caused chaos at French Connection in South Beach, where, a spy said, “Salespeople flocked to assist her, even helping her try on clothes for 30 minutes.

She was swarmed by fans screaming ‘Happy Birthday!’ ” And Guess rep Alina Hauptman sent a breathless press release complete with a photo of faux Gaga at their Lincoln Road store, saying, “The crowd was getting so out of control that security needed to shut down the store so Lady Gaga could browse . . . [she] purchased the Lucy Lace Skirt.”

The real Lady Gaga was in Vegas, celebrating her 25th birthday by performing at the MGM Grand Garden.

The eccentric singer is spending $2 million on renovating her New York condo as a shrine to her onstage persona and it will include a version of the ‘egg’ vessel she arrived at and climbed out of at the recent Grammy Awards.

Her home will also showcase her flamboyant costumes, several props and keepsakes she has collected on her travels, which include bones and masks.

An insider said: “This house project is Gaga’s new baby.

“The egg vessel is being made especially for her. She’ll be able to sleep in it, in place of a double bed. She felt so a home in the egg on stage – she spent hours in it meditating and says when she’s in it she feels at peace.”

Architects will reportedly start work on the ‘Born This Way’ singer’s property in a fortnight’s time and she is said to have also enlisted the help of her close friend Rick Genest and fashion director Nicola Formichetti to advise her on the interior design.

Last month, Gaga revealed she will always live in the New York neighbourhood where she grew up as she wants a “normal” life and was left unimpressed after a brief stint on the Hollywood party scene.

She said: “I actually made a choice to keep my life pretty normal.

“Some point about two years ago I said to myself, ‘OK, am I going to put my toe in Hollywood’s pond and figure out if I want to live a glamorous life and assimilate to the glamorous lifestyle’, but I really didn’t want to do it.”

“I still live where I always lived, I still hang out and drink whisky at the same bars. I still go to the same hardware store.”

She raised more than half a million dollars for those affected by the devastating earthquake in Haiti by donating one day’s worth of merchandise and concert ticket sales.

But this time, Lady Gaga is urging her fans to dig deep to raise money for the victims of the Japanese tsunami.

In light of yesterday’s catastrophic events, the singer has designed a special charity bracelet and has asked her fans to spend just $5 on the white rubber prayer band.

A post on her website and Twitter page today said all proceeds from the band – which will be available from March 25 – will go to the Japan tsunami relief fund.

The bracelet has ‘We Pray For Japan’ written in both English and Japanese as well as an image of her ‘monster claw’, a symbol her fans use to show their love for the singer.

Gaga is a huge fan of the country and is inspired by its art and fashion and her stylist Nicola Formichetti is half-Japanese.

Although she is the only celebrity to instigate a way of raising money for the victims so far, many have been taking to their Twitter pages to offer their thoughts and condolences.

Justin Bieber wrote: ‘Japan is one of my favorite places on earth…it’s an incredible culture with amazing people. My prayers go out to them. We all need to help.’

Kim Kardashian put: ‘Seeing all of this footage in Japan is devastating! Please help the people of Japan by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.’

And Glee’s Lea Michele added: ‘ So devastating to hear about the huge earthquake & tsunami Japan. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone there.’

The March 10 issue of Page Six Magazine, free inside the New York Post, reveals juicy new facts about Lady Gaga’s boyfriend, Lüc Carl — including the inspiration behind his Drunk Diet, what makes him cry, and the secrets of his success with the ladies.

Behind the Drunk Diet:

Three years ago, Lüc Carl was a chubby, beer-swilling bar manager with an appetite for the fast life and late-night cheeseburgers. He had just split with his soon-to-be-über famous girlfriend, Stefani Germanotta, and had returned from a guys’ trip to the Bahamas, where he was embarrassed to take off his shirt because of his pudgy belly.

“He hated to admit it, but the breakup with Stefani definitely made him want to look good,” 21-year old actress Alex Stebbins, who dated Carl then, tells Page Six Magazine.

He invented his now-famous, self-styled get fit regime, the Drunk Diet, lost 40 pounds, and gained Gaga back, along with a book deal.

Says Stebbins: “His diet [became] very plain. It was mostly steamed chicken and vegetables. He doesn’t know how to cook, but he knows how to use the steamer.”

As for his liquid habit, he switched from beer to red wine during weekdays and lets himself enjoy Budweiser on Sundays. “He calls Budweiser his red-and-white dynamite,” says Stebbins.

What makes him cry:

He cries over the movie Rocky, his workout inspiration: “He loves that movie so much,” Stebbins reveals. “When we first started dating, we watched it. I turned to look at him and he was crying. We even took a road trip to Philly so he could run up the museum steps and I could take pictures of him.” Carl listens to the Rocky soundtrack and Iron Maiden during workouts.

On Lüc Carl as girl magnet:

“He’s very flirtatious, charming and affectionate with the ladies,” says singer Wendy Starland, who’s credited with discovering Gaga. “He’s quick with a smile and extremely outgoing.”

Stebbins agrees: “I definitely had to outsit swooning girls at the end of the night to wait for him [to come home].”
