In September, CEO Mounir Moufarrige announced that Lohan had been brought on to provide an “electric shock” to the aging fashion house. The move, widely viewed as a publicity stunt, was so controversial that head designer Esteban Cortazar resigned earlier in the summer rather than work with a celebrity adviser.

Cortazar was proved correct in October, when critics in Paris savaged the collection and Lohan’s contributions as a laughingstock. In one of the nicer reviews, WWD noted Lohan’s nipple-baring outfits, covered with hearts, were “cheesy and dated . . . an embarrassment.”

Now, we have learned that Ungaro’s chairman, Asim Abdullah, is locked in a fierce battle with Moufarrige over Lohan’s future role at the company.

“Asim wants her out now,” a fashion insider who has seen e-mails between the two executives tells Page Six. “Department stores in the States have already told him they won’t be picking up the line if Lohan remains a collaborator, so it’s a serious issue.”

The problem, says our source, is that “Mounir wants to keep her on because it was his idea to hire her in the first place. He’s trying to save face.”

The terms of Lohan’s multiyear contract were not disclosed, though it is said to be worth seven figures.

Earlier this month, Ungaro himself, who hasn’t had any contact with the house that bears his name since leaving in 2005, said of Lohan’s debut collection, “I am furious, but I can’t do anything about it,” adding that the label “is in the process of losing its soul.”

Reached for comment, a rep for Abdullah said of the rift between the execs, “Such an insinuation is totally absurd.”

Lindsay Lohan fled a nightclub in tears after a confrontation with her ex- gal pal, Courtenay Semel, who has begged her to go to rehab.

The starlet stormed out of Brittny Gastineau’s birthday party at Crown Bar in Los Angeles Wednesday night after coming face-to-face with Semel, who dated Lohan in 2007 but recently asked her to seek help.

A source said, “Everyone was trying to keep [Lohan and Semel] apart, especially since Courtenay is recently out of rehab and has pleaded with Lindsay to do the same.

“Everything was fine for a while, and Lindsay seemed happy, but then there was a confrontation when she came out of the bathroom, and she ran out in tears. Everyone fears she’s on some kind of self-destructive collision course.” Other guests at Gastineau’s party included Jill Zarin, Nicole Murphy and Jamie Foxx.

A rep for Lohan said of her storming out, “That’s news to me,” while Semel’s rep did not return calls.

Then, on Thursday night, despite pleas from her father, Michael Lohan, to go into rehab, Lindsay continued partying, joining up with Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos and staying out with him until 7 a.m. yesterday in LA.

Earlier in the night outside club Voyeur in Hollywood, she blasted her dad as an attention-seeker for releasing private recordings of her mother, Dina, sounding panicked about her condition. She told photographers, “Why don’t you go find my dad, he’s the one that wants the pictures,” before heading to Niarchos’ pad at about 2 a.m.

Beverly Hills addiction counselor Marty Brenner told us, “Her dad is putting her in a scary situation. Getting her into rehab should be done quietly with love and respect, not by public criticism. He is just forcing her to rebel, and it’s just a time bomb waiting to happen.

The fight to save Lindsay Lohan continues.

In a shocking recorded phone conversation between parents Michael and Dina Lohan, Lindsay’s mom reveals the starlet was dating Heath Ledger at the time of his tragic death in January 2008.

“She was dating Heath when he died,” Dina revealed in the recording, posted on RadarOnline.com. “I don’t know if you know that, but I know cause I would drop her off and they were friends. Very, very close, okay?”

In the 2008 audio tape, Dina claims the untimely death of the Australian actor triggered LiLo’s downward spiral. Ledger’s death was ruled accidental as a result of “acute intoxication” caused by a combination of six kinds of pills.

“That f—-d her up,” Dina says. “When she’s drunk or takes an Adderall with it, she will do something like Heath Ledger did in a second without thinking.”

Dina also suggests the 23-year-old’s problems were stemmed from her parent’s tumultuous marriage, a sore subject Lindsay has previously said involved domestic abuse.

“She cannot be alone,” Dina claims. “When she sleeps here she sleeps with me… she has fears from being little and what you did to us.”

Former assistant Jenni Muro was a constant presence in Lindsay’s life, as was another assistant named Laurie. Dina claims that Jenni can provide the help her daughter needs and save her.

Referencing Lindsay’s suspended license from a second DUI arrest in 2007, Dina says she’s grateful her daughter is not allowed to drive.

“She’s got to take that whole course, thank God. Imagine her behind the wheel of a car right now?” Dina asks. “That would be deadly.”

Dina also expressed concern for Lindsay’s turbulent on-again-off-again relationship with girlfriend Samantha Ronson. She says she thinks her famous daughter should leave the situation, but she understands it isn’t an easy decision for Lindsay.

“It’s very easy for a rational person to say,” Dina added. “But [not] for an irrational person who has a problem with her DNA and alcohol and Adderall and asthma and every other things she’s got wrong with her.”

Dad of the year Michael Lohan at first demanded $100,000 for his story and secret recordings of daughter Lindsay and wife Dina, sources said.

Lohan had been shopping his tapes around TV networks but was turned down, and eventually struck a deal with RadarOnline.com to reveal the tapes for free, followed by a paid interview.

And despite legal threats from Dina to stop revealing strictly private family conversations, Michael said he would carry on revealing more tapes until he gets Lindsay — who he claims is addicted to prescription drugs — into rehab.

A source told us, “Michael initially asked for a large fee — six figures — for the tapes of Lindsay and Dina, but he didn’t get any takers. Radar Online also refused to pay for the tapes, so in the end he agreed to a deal to release the recordings for no fee, but giving him the exposure he needs with a paid interview.”

Michael told us that a six-figure demand for the tapes “was a complete lie,” but when asked if he was paid for his interview, he said, “That’s in the hands of my lawyers. They deal with that.”

He insisted, “This isn’t about money or getting paid, it’s about saving my daughter.”

And he said his ex-wife’s plan to have him prosecuted was a waste of time because “all the recordings were done when both Dina and Lindsay were in New York,” where it’s legal to tape phone calls without informing the other party.

But his campaign seems to be having the opposite effect on his defiant daughter, who jetted back from Morocco to LA late Thursday and immediately went out partying at racy club Voyeur until the early hours of Friday morning.

Michael said he wouldn’t abandon his plan despite heavy criticism from Lindsay and Dina. He said, “I have more recordings which will further back up what I have said so far. I will release them. I will not stop until Lindsay goes to rehab.”

Gerard Butler has romanced many of Hollywood’s leading ladies — and that makes his latest rumored escapade far below his usual standards.

The hunky actor reportedly got cozy with none other than Lindsay Lohan on Sunday night at Sol Kerzner Mazagan Beach Resort launch in El Jadida, Morocco. A source told the U.K.’s Daily Mail that the two locked lips on the dance floor at the fete, then left together during the early hours of Monday morning.

Witnesses to the alleged tryst included Naomi Campbell, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, who were among the hordes of celebrities who flocked to the opening. Also on hand: Guy Ritchie, who was photographed with Butler as he enjoyed being Madonna-free with an unidentified blond.

Linds is referring to recent whispers that she had an afternoon delight with male model Petey Wright after a photo shoot in Hollywood last Wednesday and, of course, to her latest breakup with deejay Samantha Ronson.

Butler’s reps didn’t return calls for comment. A source close to the “Law Abiding Citizen” star insists that he didn’t get down and dirty with the troubled starlet. “He’s a fun, good-looking guy, and every time he even gets close to an actress, people assume something,” the insider said. “He has no interest in Lindsay.”

This isn’t the first time (and won’t be the last) that Butler has gotten false heat for simply chatting up a famous lady. He was reported to be wooing Jessica Simpson after the two were spotted at Soho House last week. Since then, several sources have confirmed that there is “nothing romantic” between the two.

Lindsay Lohan has teamed up with mom Dina to threaten “loose cannon” dad Michael with jail over his outbursts that Lindsay is killing herself with drugs.

Dina says Lindsay is applying for a restraining order following Michael’s statement that he wanted to kidnap her and force her into rehab. And Dina, who claims the family is afraid of him, is ready to send her ex to jail for nonpayment of child support.

Following reports that Michael plans to go on TV and play her phone messages about Lindsay, Dina said: “He’s getting a cease-and-desist letter [from us], so that’s not going to happen. If it’s something personal about your child, you don’t go public with it.”

“He is hurting Lindsay. It breaks my heart. She’s like, ‘Mommy, when is he ever going to stop?’ ” Dina said.

“He is also six months behind in his child support. On Monday, we will file a violation order, and if he doesn’t pay, he’ll go to jail.

“He’s getting paid for these shows he’s doing talking about Lindsay,” Dina said. “He’s flying all over the country and not paying for his other three children he’s hurting every time he goes on television.

“It is horrific that a father could do this. We are afraid he’s spiraling out of control. [Daughter] Ali is scared and will be getting an order of protection. Lindsay is getting an order in California and in New York.

“He’s desperate, he’s running out of options because none of his children is talking to him. Doors are closing for him, and he’s getting a little nervous, which makes us nervous. We’re scared.

“But I believe in karma, and his leash is getting tighter,” Dina said. “He just needs to zip his mouth.”

Michael and his lawyer, Anthony Grandinette, did not return calls for comment.

Lindsay Lohan’s father Michael, has spoken to the press once again about his concerns for his famous daughter, this time saying that he fears she could be “dead in a year.”

“It could be a year, a month, a week – who knows?” Michael told Grazia magazine. “She has a plethora of medicine you can’t mix and can’t drink with.”

He added, “She needs long-term rehab. I fear the worst. Look at Elvis, Anna Nicole Smith, Heath Ledger – who was a close friend of hers.”

Michael recently appeared on Maury Povich’s television show and claimed his daughter has an addiction to prescription pills saying, “There’s nothing left of her.”

Sure, Lilo’s recent look has her being compared to the equally blonde and thin Donatella Versace, but it hasn’t stopped her from speaking out against her father’s voiced “concern.”

“I’m so hurt that someone who calls himself my father needs to use the press to communicate with me,” the actress told Usmagazine.com. “It’s so sad that he needs to stay in the media spotlight by using my name and making up excessive lies. He should instead try to be a real father.”

Earlier this month the starlet left court with a stern warning from an L.A. judge to “get serious” about attending alcohol education classes as part of her probation following her DUI in August 2007.
