The outspoken father – who was taken to hospital last week after suffering chest pains during a celebrity boxing match – was rushed to St Francis Hospital in New York yesterday afternoon after complaining of feeling unwell, where it has since been confirmed by his journalist girlfriend Kate Major, that he suffered a heart attack.
She said: “He was short of breath all day. His blood pressure skyrocketed. Right now they’ve told him it looks like he had a minor heart attack but they are still doing tests on him.”
Michael, 49, had been in Miami making an appearance on the US ‘Geraldo’ show and had also been participating in a photo shoot with the reality TVfamily, the Kardashian’s.
Kate added: “Michael was in Miami. We just flew back to New York last night. But he didn’t feel well all day today.”
Michael – who was recently blasted by his actress daughter for suggesting she should be in rehab – is reportedly scheduled to have a procedure to clear his arteries on Friday.
Lindsay is currently in Los Angeles, although it is not known whether she has been in contact with her father.

She’s rumored to be considering a move to London and, judging by Lindsay Lohan’s frequency in visiting the capital, she could be well be set to become a West End girl.
The 23-year-old was spotted out and about in London again this weekend, where she made appearances at Bungalow 8 and new clubbing hotspot Jet Black.
Wearing a black winter jacket over a backless white dress, knee-high boots and a pair of heavily laddered tights, Miss Lohan partied until the early hours.
The latter of the two clubs, Jet Black, stays open until 8am and is described as having a ‘Moulin Rouge meets Sunset Strip vibe’.
Lohan has just landed in London after spending a few days in Paris for fashion week, where she debuted some of the new designs from her line of leggings.
Coincidentally, her former lover Calum Best, 30, was just a stone’s throw away in The Den – a club which is housed in the same building as Jet Black.

Last month the former bad boy claimed he will not be seeking out his ex-flame if she does move to London.
He told the Metro newspaper: ‘I am not going to be out looking for Lindsay when she comes to London or anything like that.’
However the two crossed paths at a Haiti fundraiser hosted by Lohan on February 17.
Best also opened up about how he really felt about their break-up: ‘She’s a lovely girl and to be honest I don’t know why we ended on such bad terms.
‘I have nothing but good things to say about her but for some reason she doesn’t like me.’

Admitting their affair was great fun, when asked if he would like to see Lindsay again when she arrives in the UK he said: ‘No, we will definitely not be rekindling what we once had.’
Calum is fighting hard to leave his ‘bad boy’ image behind him, though he did joke: ‘I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a little bit of bad boy in you.’
The son of late football legend George Best has just returned from a charity treck in Vietnam.
Gail Porter also took part in the fundraiser, which saw the twosome travel by train from Hanoi to Lao Cai, where their walk began, taking them through the region of Sapa in the north west of Vietnam.

The actress claims the one of the company’s famous baby ads used her name to mock her.
Lindsay Lohan is suing New York financial company E-Trade, insisting that a boyfriend-stealing, “milkaholic” baby used in its latest commercial is modeled after her, the New York Post reported Tuesday.
The star is demanding $100 million for her pain and suffering caused by the ad tot – also called Lindsay – in a lawsuit filed Monday in Nassau County Supreme Court, N.Y.
The commercial, which debuted during the Super Bowl this year and is part of a series starring babies who play the stock market, features a boy apologizing to his girlfriend via video chat for not calling her the night before.
“And that milkaholic Lindsay wasn’t over?” the baby girl asks him suspiciously.
“Lindsay?” the boy replies, just before a baby girl sticks her head into the frame and slurs, “Milk-a-what?”
Lohan’s lawyer, Stephanie Ovadia, said the actress holds the same single name recognition as Oprah or Madonna.
“Many celebrities are known by one name only, and E-Trade is using that knowledge to profit,” Ovadia said.
“They’re using her name as a parody of her life. Why didn’t they use the name Susan? This is a subliminal message. Everybody’s talking about it and saying it’s Lindsay Lohan.”
Ovadia said E-Trade violated Lohan’s rights under New York state civil rights law and used her “name and characterization” in business without paying her or getting her approval.
She said that since the spot was seen by hundreds of millions of people watching the Super Bowl and Winter Olympics finals, the firm garnered great profits.
Lohan is owed $50 million in exemplary damages, plus another $50 million in compensatory damages, Ovadia claimed.
The Lohan camp is also seeking an injunction to force the spot off the air, and wants every last copy of the commercial.
Chris Brown, a spokesman for Grey Group, which produced the spot, threw cold milk on the controversy, saying it “just used a popular baby name that happened to be the name of someone on the account team.”
E-Trade could not be reached for comment.

Lindsay Lohan is feuding with the E-Trade babies.
The actress has filed a $100 million lawsuit claiming a television ad for the Wall Street firm that aired during the Super Bowl and Olympics was modeled after her.
Talking babies in the ad engage in chatter that refers to “milkaholic Lindsay.” The 23-year-old actress has famously sought substance abuse treatment.
Lohan’s name was never mentioned. But her New York lawyer contends that “Lindsay” is an equally recognizable moniker for her client – like that of Oprah or Madonna.
Lohan’s legal team is seeking an injunction to stop future airings.
An E-Trade spokeswoman is declining to comment.

Lindsay Lohan gave up drugs, but she’s now getting her juice from Vitamin B12 shots.
Lohan jetted back from London to host a party at Harrah’s The Pool After Dark in Atlantic City. “She said she was suffering from jet lag and requested that a doctor be on call to administer B12 shots if needed,” said a spy.
“Her other demand was two cartons of cigarettes.” Once there, she relaxed in a private cabana with mom Dina and friends. But she criticized the deejay, telling the crowd “a certain ex-girlfriend” could teach him “what songs to play” — a reference to Samantha Ronson.

Lindsay Lohan has given a revealing interview about her struggle with drug addiction, admitting she feared she would die unless she got help.
Lindsay Lohan feared drugs would kill her.
The 23-year-old actress – who has an on/off relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson – used alcohol and illegal substances to ease the pain of her personal problems, and claims the situation worsened when her father Michael Lohan started giving interviews about her in 2007.
She said: “When my father was going public, that’s when I hit rock bottom. I abused substances too much and it wasn’t the answer to my problems.
“I tried to mask my problems with alcohol, cocaine, and mind-altering substances. Now I’m in a place where I don’t need to use anything and I feel emotions because I choose to.
“I never want to be close to losing everything I worked for and aspired to have my whole life. I’ve made some dreadful mistakes but learned from them – that has probably saved my life.”
The ‘Mean Girls’ actress got to know about cocaine because of her drug user father, and despite witnessing his descent into addiction she still tried the substance.
She added in an interview with The Sun newspaper: “I was only aware of cocaine because of my dad. I was terrified of it. But I tried it because I was stubborn, stupid and wanted to see what it was like.
“It’s not something I ever want to do again. It made me feel like s**t. It became uninteresting to me. I’m hyper anyway and I have that kind of personality, so I don’t need something like that.”
Speaking about the first of her three stints in rehab, Lindsay admitted she requested treatment after collapsing in her bathroom.
She said: “The first time I checked myself in because I had taken Ambien. It’s a sleeping aid but it makes you hallucinate.
“I’d run a bath and fallen asleep on the floor and it overflowed. When I woke up, I was so scared I called my therapist and said, ‘Can I just go somewhere for a month? I’m around bad people and I need to take care of myself.’ I was terrified, so I put my name in.”
Lindsay Lohan banned from Fashion Week show

Lindsay Lohan is to Jill Stuart what Ashley Dupre is to Yigal Azrouel: the designer’s absolute worst nightmare.
We hear from a source close to La Lohan that the wayward actress (who once was a front-row “It” girl) wasn’t invited to Stuart’s Fashion Week show because the designer’s team considers her a “brand damager.”
“A lot of designers, and especially Jill’s camp, don’t think she’s worth all the press she’d get their show,” an industry insider leaks, although Stuart denies that she banned Lohan.
But we hear Linds’ absence from NYC is a little personal, too: Her ex-girlfriend, deejay Samantha Ronson, and Sam’s twin sis, designer Charlotte, practically run Fashion Week.
“Fashion Week kind of belongs to the Ronsons,” says the source, “and Charlotte had Lindsay banned from both her show and after-party — just like she did this past fall.”
Since LiLo and Sam had an altercation at L.A. hot spot the Tea Room on Feb. 3 — Linds reportedly threw a cigarette at her former flame — buzz was flying around Charlotte’s Friday night Avenue bash that maybe Lohan would try to crash the party to cause more drama.
“Lindsay is welcome at Avenue any other night of the year, as long as she doesn’t drink,” another insider says. “But there is no way she would have been allowed anywhere near Charlotte’s party.”
Stuart and Ronson aside, there was one place Linds was welcome: We hear that even after she caused a seating stir at G-Star Raw’s show last fall — she reportedly demanded her assignment be changed — she was invited back.
But fear not, fashionistas, we can confirm that she won’t be attending.
“She pulled out at the last minute when she decided not to go to New York,” the source says. “It was the only show she would have been welcomed at.”
Lindsay Lohan is a secret hoarder

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress has let her luxurious Los Angeles home fill up with expensive purchases she has bought over the years, with some rooms being so full they can’t be entered.
She said: “It’s kind of a sore subject. I just need to get rid of stuff. That’s personal stuff that I have to, you know, work on.”
Video footage recorded by US TV show ‘Clean House’ from inside her mansion shows rooms piled high with clothes, boxes of shoes stacked to the ceiling and discarded purchases lying unopened.
The 23-year-old star has even converted one bedroom into a closet for her shoes, with each box labelled with a photograph of their contents.
Lindsay has previously spoken of her desire to make huge changes in her life.
At the start of the year, she admitted she had a turbulent 2009 – which saw her split several times from on/off girlfriend Samantha Ronson, her film work dry up and a public feud with her estranged father Michael – and wanted to make sure 2010 is lot better by getting rid of the negativity which surrounds her.
She tweeted: “To answer everybody’s question… My new year’s resolution is to stop letting the lucky few that have my heart, try2constantly tear me down. 2010 is about moving forward, not backwards. Leaving the bad (people, habits, and negative energy behind) time to make changes-right!?!? (sic)”
