Actress Lindsay Lohan’s estranged father will begin spending the next four months in a treatment facility Wednesday and participate in a domestic violence intervention program as part of a plea deal in Tampa.

Michael Lohan pleaded no contest to domestic violence charges in Florida. He must not contact his ex-girlfriend, Kate Major, a 29-year-old former Star Magazine reporter who he was accused of battering in October.

The 51-year-old Lohan told Judge Nick Nazaretian he wanted nothing to do with Major.

“My hand has been bit too many times,” said Lohan, who was wearing a red Hillsborough County Jail outfit.

The agreement reached between Lohan and Hillsborough County prosecutors means he will spend four months of his one-year probation at a residential program in Fort Myers. After that, he must complete a domestic violence batterer’s intervention program.

The elder Lohan was arrested in Tampa on Oct. 25. A judge warned him not to make any contact with Major. But two days later, he was accused of violating the terms of his release by making a harassing phone call to her just hours after being released from jail.

Major told the court that Lohan would benefit from a treatment program and not jail.

“I think he needs help,” she said. “Keeping him in jail would be hurting him more.”

Major also talked briefly about Lohan’s famous daughter, Lindsay, an actress who also has had her share of brushes with the law.

“It’s my birthday today,” said Major. “A year ago, we were worried about Lindsay,” she said.

Judge Nazaretian replied: “I’m not sure who that is.”

A few giggles were heard in the courtroom.

Major also said she did not want Lohan’s family or friends to contact her or her family.

The judge ordered Lohan to have no contact with Major, otherwise he would be sent to jail for two years.

“No contact is nothing,” said Nazaretian. “Zero. Minus Zero.”

At one point, Lohan made a face when Major was speaking. Nazaretian reprimanded Lohan sharply.

“It’s not Disney World, so stop,” said the judge. “How old are you? Don’t act like a child.”

The estranged father of actress Lindsay Lohan has been denied bail in Florida.

Hillsborough County jail records show Michael Lohan was being held Saturday without bond on four charges.

He was arrested on domestic violence charges Tuesday. His bail was set at $5,000 and a judge warned him not to make any contact with his on-and-off girlfriend. Two days later, he was accused of violating the terms of his release by making a harassing phone call to her.

Police went to arrest him and he tried to avoid them by jumping off a third-floor balcony at a Tampa hotel. He was injured and had to be taken to the hospital.

He was released from the hospital Friday and put back in jail.

Yesterday morning, Michael Lohan from Season 5 of “Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab” was arrested on domestic violence charges, after an alleged physical altercation with on-and-off girlfriend Kate Major.

Dr. Drew comments on Michael’s arrest:

“At the time of his discharge, Bob Forrest and I both told him that he would end up in jail again.”

“Mike’s been doing okay. He’s working, he’s trying to do better but this is really a back slide to a complete reversion to his old behaviors. This is what he and Kate do routinely. This is the pattern they’re in. Unless they both go get treatment, this isn’t going to change!”

“Mike knows what he needs to do. He just needs to get back in the game and do it!”

Authorities in Los Angeles say Lindsay Lohan’s father has been arrested over allegations he held his girlfriend against her will and prevented her from calling 911.

City News Services reports that Michael Lohan was arrested Monday night in West Hollywood.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Ratto says Lohan was booked on suspicion of preventing report of victimization, false imprisonment and inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant.

Ratto says the girlfriend’s name is being withheld.

Authorities say Lohan was taken to a hospital for a medical condition unrelated to the arrest. Bail has been set at $200,000.

Lohan has a history of arrests in New York over allegations of harassment from ex-girlfriends.

The “Mean Girls” actress reportedly is estranged from her father.

Lindsay Lohan’s estranged father has offered his support to Miley Cyrus’ dad Billy Ray in a letter after the country star opened up about his fears for his teenage daughter in a magazine article.

The Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker blasted his daughter’s handlers in the GQ interview and confessed her hit Disney show Hannah Montana was a big mistake that wrecked the whole family.

And Michael Lohan can sympathise – in his letter he states he sees a lot of himself and his situation with his own daughter in what Cyrus is going through.

Addressing Cyrus directly, he writes, “As hard and frustrating as it is, believe me when I say, it’s a road worth travelled.

Even if it may have its bumps and grinds along the way. As I was raised, there is nothing like the love a man has for his family nor is there any length he will go to save or protect them.

“The hardest part is, experiencing the pain that comes from the resistance of the very one you are trying to save… When I look at what you are going through, I am forced to see myself. Two men who know what divorce and alienation, have done to our families.

“Why I ask, is it so hard for our wives, children and even the public, to see that all we are trying to do, is to be there for our family and try to make things right? Isn’t it clear that the answer is so easy but the people who don’t matter, make it so hard? While all we want is our family and normal lives back.

“I want to say, that I know what you are going through, I feel your pain and frustration, and I also admire your strength, dedication and love, for your family in the name of God.”

The showbiz patriarch – father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan – was found to have dangerously high blood pressure during a check by a nurse at his local doctor’s office, prompting staff to call for an ambulance to take him to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach.

Michael was kept in hospital overnight, though no information about his condition is currently known.

The 50 year old has undergone a stressful period recently, with Lindsay, 24, being sent to rehab for three months after failing a court-ordered drug test at the end of last year.

Last month, the former Wall Street trader revealed he was helping his daughter financially as well as supporting her recovery after she completed her treatment at the Betty Ford Center.

He said: “She is doing great. She is taking it easy and just doing things in her own way. I am supporting her with a lot of money!

“As long as she stays around the same people she is with now. She hasn’t been going out anywhere. She has been staying at home, cooking her own meals, going to the gym.”

Michael – who was estranged from the actress until recently – has been spotted with the ‘Mean Girls’ star on a number of occasions in California.

He is also parent to Ali, Michael Jr. and Cody with former wife Dina, but has a strained relationship with his family.

The ‘Mean Girls’ star was recently released from the Betty Ford rehabilitation clinic in California after completing a three-month court-ordered stint and while he doesn’t want to interfere too much, the showbiz patriarch is making sure she’s fine for money.

He said: “She is doing great. I was just on the phone with her. She is taking it easy and just doing things in her own way. I am supporting her with a lot of money!”

Michael – who is divorced from Lindsay’s mother Dina – is confident the 24-year-old actress can now stay sober because she has removed all the bad influences in her life.

He told America’s OK! magazine: “As long as she stays around the same people she is with now. She hasn’t been going out anywhere. She has been staying at home, cooking her own meals, going to the gym.”

Michael – who has battled alcohol issues himself in the past – recently said Lindsay was doing everything she can to stay sober and has even been attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings with her.

He said: “We went to an AA meeting last night then went home and had a quiet night.

“She changed back to the girl she used to be. When she was at her best – literally. She’s done a 180 and I’m very proud of her.”

Even though she has left the rehab facility, Lindsay will still be subject to random drug and alcohol testing with a psychiatrist until a court hearing on February 24.

The showbiz patriarch saw the actress for the first time in seven months earlier this week at the Betty Ford rehab clinic where she is currently receiving treatment but says with them both being famous, it is hard for them to get the privacy they need to work things out.

He told America’s OK! magazine: “The only problem is when you are in the public eye like we are, the entire relationship is under scrutiny so it’s hard. It’s harder for her.”

Michael – who has previously stated Lindsay is addicted to prescription drugs – also revealed the ‘Mean Girls’ star is doing well and has blamed the people she used to hang around with for her problems.

He revealed: “I know for a fact she’s focusing on herself. I see it more now than ever.

“I think her problems are just this business in general. They care more about themselves than the people around. People in this business can be very selfish. This is not about Lindsay because she’s a very unselfish person. As a matter of fact she’s a very giving person. But some other people don’t care what level they take someone down to.

“She’s at the top. When you are at the top they want to bring them down.”

Another reason Michael believes he has a difficult relationship with Lindsay is the fact she struggled to come to terms with her parents’ divorce.

He said: “I think divorce had a lot to do with it. It’s a very horrible thing but it happens at times.”

Lindsay was ordered by a Los Angeles court to stay in rehab until January 3 2011 after she tested positive for cocaine during a random drug test in September.

Sources say the Betty Ford Center has upped security to keep dad Michael out at Lindsay’s request during family visit time at the Palm Springs facility.

Dina had her own drama trying to get to LA Sunday night when her plane was stuck at JFK because of mechanical problems.

Mean while, Michael continues to blame Lindsay’s problems on Dina, branding her “enabling, lying white trash,” in an e-mail to Page Six Magazine.

Dina couldn’t be reached last night but recently said she was “taking the high road” by refusing to argue.
