Singer Shania Twain has published the “pathetic” email she sent to her one-time best friend after she ran off with the star’s husband Mutt Lange in her new memoir, From This Moment On.

The country beauty was left devastated when she discovered her husband was romancing her former assistant and confidante Marie-Anne Thiebaud the day after Lange filed for divorce – and admits she begged her friend to give up the music mogul.

Going public with the letter she sent during an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show on Tuesday, Twain read, “Please leave us in peace… I’m begging you. I am so low, so broken hearted, I can’t take it anymore. I wish you love and happiness but I am dying… Have mercy.

“This is killing me. I loved him so much that I can’t cope anymore. I don’t want life or love anymore. I just want peace. Why are you torturing me?

“If you could see me crying and suffering, maybe you would have pity. Find love somewhere else from someone else that isn’t hurting two families so much. All of us have to suffer for the two of you. It just isn’t right.”

Twain revealed she published the letter in her new book because she wanted to share the moment with other betrayed wives.

She told Winfrey, “I know it was pathetic… but we all have pathetic moments and that is why I shared it.”

Shania Twain’s new show ‘Why Not? With Shania Twain’, will premiere on Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Own’ network on May 8, 2011, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The hour-long debut is set to air at 11pm ET and will follow the musician as she revisits her childhood home in Ontario, Canada. The episode will detail the tragic loss of both her parents who were killed in a car accident, as well as the breakdown of her 14 year marriage to Frederic Thiebaud. Throughout the series, which is being produced by Gay Rosenthal and Bryn Freedman, Twain will take off on a ‘cross country adventure’ with band mates and friends. A number of high-profile stars will also feature on the show, including Gladys Knight, Lionel Richie and David Foster, who provide the singer with inspiration and guidance.

Recent speculation has suggested that Shania Twain is currently in negotiations to perform a residency in Las Vegas, similar to that of Celine Dion’s current show. While no contracts have been signed, John Meglen, the President of Aeg is reportedly hopeful that a deal can be struck.

Newlywed Shania Twain is hoping her new Oprah Winfrey Network series WHY NOT? inspires her to reclaim her crown as the queen of country music – after losing her voice and her confidence.

The Man, I Feel Like a Woman singer has revealed the pressures of superstardom and the break-up of her marriage to record producer Mutt Lange conspired to turn her into a bitter woman who no longer had any interest in recording and performing.

But now Twain hopes her show on OWN, which debuts in April, will provide her with the tools she needs to reclaim her former glory.

She says, “I have lost my ability to express myself and my ability to sing… For some reason, I’m not comfortable singing in front of people anymore.

“I was feeling more pressure from my career, the bigger it got. I felt the pressure to be better and better all the time. It just effected me. I was slowly losing my voice and slowly losing my confidence… My marriage was slowly breaking down too.”

She admits that when Lange left her, she felt a “real death,” adding, “I really lost my sense of trust, compassion, honesty… I was really getting quite obsessive about my own pain and my struggle and I just had to snap out of it.
“On this tour (for TV series)… I wanna talk to people that have been through big disappointments, big emotional crises, deep life struggles and I will learn something from that… I will be inspired by other people.”

Twain has started 2011 in style – she wed Frederic Thiebaud in Puerto Rico on Saturday, just weeks after announcing her engagement.

It may have been her second time down the aisle, but Shania Twain didn’t spare any details on her New Year’s Day wedding.

An official photograph shows the Canadian country singer, 45, dressed in all the trimmings for the intimate ceremony held on the island of Puerto Rico over the weekend.

The star, who married Swiss businessman Frédéric Thiébaud, 40, wore a white gown with a black sash and a full veil for the Caribbean event.

She accessorized the dress, bought from a small boutique in near her home in Switzerland, with Lorraine Schwartz jewellery and Calvin Klein shoes.

The pair wed at sunset in front of 40 of their closest family and friends, including her son Eja, nine, who gave her away.

Their marriage comes two and a half years after they discovered their respective ex-spouses were allegedly having an affair.

Twain was devastated to discover her first husband Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange got together with the singer’s best friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud – ex-wife of Frédéric.

After initially consoling each other in the aftermath of the marriage breakdowns, Twain and Thiébaud’s friendship developed into love, with the country star revealing their engagement on December 21.

The star’s representative told People magazine: ‘They were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of 40 of their closest family and friends.’

When she announced their engagement on her personal website, an ecstatic Twain wrote: ‘I am excited to share some personal news with you; I’m in love!

‘Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship.’

‘Fred and I are happy to announce our engagement!’

Friends of the couple claim they got engaged in Switzerland – where they both live – in October, but kept it secret until last month.

The couple were photographed together in New York two weeks ago, with Twain showing off an $100,000 three-carat, emerald-cut diamond engagement ring.

In the real-life wife-swap story, Lange is still living with Marie-Anne and both couples have a friendly relationship for the sake of their children.

Shania and her ex-husband, who finalised their divorce in June, share custody of their son. The Thiebauds have a daughter, also nine.

Country singer Shania Twain is engaged.

Twain’s manager Jason Owen confirmed Monday that Twain is engaged to business executive Frederic Thiebaud. Owen declined further comment.

The news was first reported by Us Weekly.

Twain first confirmed in August 2009 that she was dating Thiebaud after her divorce from Robert “Mutt” Lange, who had an affair with Twain’s best friend and Thiebaud’s wife, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. She reached out to Frederic Thiebaud in the aftermath, and wrote on her website last year that she had found “a dear friend and true gentleman.”

No word on when or where the wedding will be. Twain, who has stepped away from the spotlight the last few years, has an autobiography due out in the spring and is scheduled to have her own show on Oprah Winfrey’s television network.

Shania Twain carried the Olympic torch the final 400 yards into Hollinger Park, cheered on by thousands of parka-clad fans who turned out in arctic conditions to see the hometown hero in person Friday night.

After making her final turn toward the stage, Twain paused, held the torch aloft in her mittened left hand, and waved to the crowd. The country star then bounded the final few yards onto the stage, where she lit the Olympic cauldron.

“I feel proud, very proud,” Twain said. “It’s a highlight of my life to be able to carry the flame, to light the cauldron.”

At 16 degrees below zero and windy, it was so cold that when a dozen red beach balls were tossed into the crowd, the balls came apart within seconds.

“I know that sounds crazy, but it wouldn’t be Timmins if it wasn’t 40 below with the wind chill factor!” Twain said.

Shania Twain is joining the ranks of “American Idol” guest judges.

A spokesman for the show said Tuesday that the country singer will take part in the Chicago auditions set for the end of August.

Kelly Clarkson, the original “American Idol,” and one of the Jonas Brothers also may end up as guest judges. But they had yet to be confirmed Tuesday.

“American Idol” began enlisting visiting celebrities after a contract dispute led Paula Abdul to announce she was quitting the show. There’s been speculation that Abdul still could reach a deal and return for the ninth season, starting in January.
