Peter Krause sued the Basic Instinct star in 2008, two years after he sustained a knee injury by falling through latticework and into a neighbor’s yard while working on her house.

Stone took to the stand this week to testify there was a fence in the spot where the plaintiff alleged the accident happened.

But a jury ruled the Hollywood beauty was negligent for failing to have a fence sturdy enough to prevent Krause’s fall.

Stone’s lawyer told reporters outside court, “We’re disappointed they did not take her testimony at face value.”

Her attorney is considering an appeal, reports Eonline.com.

A Los Angeles judge has increased the ‘Basic Instinct’ star’s temporary restraining order – which was originally granted on February 24 – against “mentally ill” Bradley Gooden, who claims to have entered her home last month mistakenly thinking it was his own.

The intruder – who calls himself Bobby Joe Clinton because he believes he is the son of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – maintained he had done nothing wrong because his ‘mother’ had bought the luxury property from the 52-year-old actress as a “present” for him to live in.

Alleging Gooden was “mentally ill” and “possibly a delusional schizophrenic”, Sharon obtained the permanent restraining order yesterday, meaning he must stay at least 100 yards away from the star and her three adopted sons – Roan, Laird and Quinn – as well as her home and workplace until March 8 2014.

A Los Angeles police detective who investigated the case ruled that Gooden – who also claims he is an FBI agent and wrote the script to Oscar-winning script ‘The King’s Speech’ at the age of just two – had an “abnormal fixation on Sharon Stone and her property”.

In the petition she made to courts in February, Sharon said: “I have been subjected to a course of conduct which has and is seriously alarming, annoying and harassing me. Mr. Gooden’s ongoing, physical and harassing conduct are extremely distressing.

“I am in fear from Mr. Gooden for my personal safety, and that of those around me, including especially my children and family, as well as my friends and employees.”

Gooden remains under involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold.

She’s best known for that scene in Basic Instinct – and it appears that Sharon Stone still lives by the maxim if you’ve got it, flaunt it, on the set of a recent movie.

The star stripped down to a tiny bikini in low-budget comedy Five Bucks A Day, directed by Calendar Girls and Made In Dagenham British film maker Nigel Cole.

In fact, the budget seems to have been so low that the props department couldn’t afford to loan Sharon a handbag.

Well, that’s one explanation for why she has a packet of cigarettes and a lighter tucked into her bikini bottoms.

Most onlookers would be forgiven instead for marvelling at the 52-year-old’s still toned body.

Five Bucks A Day also stars Christopher Walken, Alessandro Nivola, Amanda Peet and former Superman star Dean Cain.

Although made in 2008, it only got a limited release last year, but is now out on DVD.

Meanwhile, Pixie Lott has been lined up to star Ms Stone’s daughter in forthcoming new movie Sweet Baby Jesus.

The 19-year-old said of the film, in which she co-stars with Adrien Brody and Bette Midler: ‘It’s crazy, isn’t it?

‘It’s a comedy about a man named Joe who accompanies his pregnant girlfriend Mary to Bethlehem, where the villagers assume they are the second coming.’

Sweet Baby Jesus is expected to start filming within the next couple of months and comes out next year.

Coincidentally, Sharon stars alongside Brody in another forthcoming film project.

Waco, based on the real-life events sparked by cult leader David Koresh in 1993, also stars Kurt Russell. It’s due out next year.

Sharon Stone will soon be fighting crime in a guest role on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

The Oscar-nominated actress will appear on the NBC cop drama in a four-episode story arc later this season, says Pam Golum, a spokeswoman for producer Dick Wolf.

Stone, best known for her films “Basic Instinct” and “Casino,” will play a cop turned prosecutor.

In the past, she has guest-starred on the series “Huff” and “The Practice,” for which she won an Emmy.

Her casting was first reported Tuesday by Entertainment Weekly’s Web site.

And of course, PETA has a few kind words for the animal killer. “Maybe Sharon, passed over by the Academy yet again, was jealous of Ratatouille’s Oscar win and thought a rodent paw might go with her haggard look.
