Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal have further fuelled rumors they are a couple after the pair was snapped enjoying a coffee shop date in the singer’s adopted hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.

The hunky actor and country sweetheart have been romantically linked since they were seen walking hand-in-hand during a walk round Brooklyn, New York in October.

They reportedly spent America’s Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday together in New York, and have done little to deny the reports after Swift took Gyllenhaal to Nashville, where she now lives, on Saturday.

A fan snapped the pair in the Fido coffee shop and insisted they only had eyes for each other.

A fellow onlooker tells People.com, “They were smiling and laughing. They were talking a lot and enjoying each other’s company. They didn’t look like (just) friends.

“They were not trying to be discreet by any means. They were definitely a couple. They looked very happy.”

The ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor – who is currently promoting his new movie ‘Love And Other Drugs’ in the British capital – flew the country music star in by private jet on Friday night, and the pair were said to be holed up in London’s exclusive Dorchester hotel until yesterday morning.

Taylor – who has dated ‘Twilight’ actor Taylor Lautner and Disney star Joe Jonas in the past – was due to be in the city to perform at the Radio 1 Teen Awards yesterday, but jetted in early to see Jake.

An insider told The Sun newspaper: “Jake wanted some quality time with Taylor. If he hadn’t done this, they would have missed each other as he had to fly back to the US. He hired a jet which would have easily set him back $100,000.”

Rumors about the new couple have been circulating since they were spotted holding hands and looking loved-up while on a romantic walk around Brooklyn, New York, last month.

A source said at the time: “Taylor and Jake were walking around Park Slope holding hands. They looked like a couple!”

Jake – who split from actress Reese Witherspoon last December after more than two years together – has also dated stars including Natalie Portman and Kirsten Dunst in the past.

Taylor Swift has become the latest star to smell success – the country singer is to launch her own fragrance.

The Love Story hitmaker is teaming up with Elizabeth Arden to create a new scent.

She says, “I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory… (and) lately I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance.”

The unnamed scent will hit perfume counters across America and beyond this time next year.

Taylor Swift is hitting town today to promote her new album, but she’s also sparking rumors about a romantic match with Jake Gyllenhaal.

The two were spotted flirting backstage at “SNL” and then were seen brunching and strolling in Park Slope, according to Life & Style.

Sources speculated that it could all be timely publicity for Swift’s album “Speak Now”.

She’s expected to do a series of TV appearances today before taping a concert at rooftop bar 230 Fifth to air on NBC around Thanksgiving.

Gyllenhaal’s rep had no comment; Swift’s rep didn’t get back to the press.

Taylor Swift’s new song, ‘Dear John’, which features on her upcoming album, ‘Speak Now’, was written about the singer-songwriter John Mayer, according to a Yahoo music columnist who reviewed the album. The song reportedly confirms that the couple had a relationship which turned sour.

During his review of the record, music writer Chris Willman analyses the chorus of ‘Dear John’, and concludes that the track is referring directly to 33-year-old Mayer in the lyric, “Dear John, I see it all now that you’re gone, Don’t you think I was too young, to be messed with, the girl in the dress, cried the whole way home, I should’ve known”, and it is suggested that the song mentions the age difference between the two in the line, “It was wrong, don’t you think nineteen’s too young, to be played, by your dark, twisted games, when I loved you so”.

In an interview with Willman himself, Swift spoke about the inspiration behind the new tracks, saying, “They’re all made very clear. Every single song is like a roadmap to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won’t know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints”, before adding, “And every single song is like that. Everyone will know, so I don’t really have to send out emails on this one”. The new album is set to hit shelves on 25th October 2010, and the first single ‘Mine’ was released on August 24th 2010.

Lindsay Lohan’s legal woes appear to have given Taylor Swift her big movie break – the country sweetheart is the new favorite to replace the Mean Girls actress in a new film about a former child star finding success on a reality TV dating show.

Writer/producer Richard O’Sullivan initially offered Lohan the lead in his new film One Night With You after writing it with her in mind.

He said, “It is ready-made for Lindsay… but we’re proceeding with extreme caution while the Lohan family sorts through their issues during a very trying time.”

Lohan has since served two stints in jail – the latest a 10-hour stay on Friday – and spent time in a court-ordered lockdown rehab. And now it looks as if producers have moved on from the troubled star.

A source says, “It appears the romantic comedy may finally be off the table for Lindsay Lohan. The producers had actually talked to Taylor Swift’s agent a few months back about replacing Lindsay, but Taylor was in the middle of her tour.

“Now that Lindsay can’t conquer her troubles, they’re taking the offer back to Taylor.”

It’s the second major role Lohan has lost this year – in April, she was dropped from new movie The Other Side.

It won’t be Swift’s first acting gig – the Love Story singer has appeared on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and in the film Valentine’s Day.

Many were expecting this year’s MTV Video Music Awards to be the night Taylor Swift got her revenge on Kanye West.

But the country singer decided not to stoop to conquer, with her highly anticipated song about West serving as an olive branch rather than a slap in the face.

The 20-year-old delivered a poignant and powerful ode at Sunday’s ceremony in downtown Los Angeles which, instead of criticizing him, sympathized with his difficult time in the spotlight since he infamously stormed the stage as she accepted an award last year.

Kanye made an kind of double-handed apology in his separate performance which closed the show, with his crude lyrics proclaiming: ‘Let’s have a toast to the douche bags, a**holes, scum bags and j**k offs.’

While his words could have been taken as an apparent attempt at self-deprecation, it was Taylor who centred on West’s own admissions that his ego has often gotten in his own way.

‘Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did,’ she sang softly, adding: ‘You’re still an innocent.’

Be warned, Kanye: Taylor Swift has written a song about you, and she’s singing it at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The country superstar’s win for best female video last year was marred when Kanye West got on stage and said it should have gone to Beyonce.

Swift wrote a song about the experience earlier this year, and a source familiar with the show said Saturday the 20-year-old will sing the new song at the VMAs, which will be aired live on MTV. The source did not want to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter.

The song is on Swift’s upcoming album “Speak Now,” due out in October. The source said Swift performed it during a secret rehearsal in Los Angeles for the VMAs on Friday.

Though the West-Swift moment only lasted but a few minutes, it has endured for what seems to be a lifetime. It became a cultural watershed moment and gave West the most intense backlash of his career, despite an apology delivered later.

He dropped out of the spotlight, and last week on Twitter, said that he endured death wishes, had to cancel a tour and let go of employees. He again apologized to Swift and said he wrote a song for her and hoped she would sing it – and if not, he would perform it for her.

But instead, Swift will be singing her own song. The Grammy-winner is known for writing intensely personal songs, and skewering a few former boyfriends along the way.

After initially expressing her hurt, Swift has avoided addressing the matter.

West will also be a performer at the awards show; both are nominees. It’s not clear what song he will sing.

Though there was anticipation of possible fireworks related to last year with West’s performance, Swift’s song all but guarantees it.

The singer is said to be unhappy that the rapper has again brought up the infamous incident at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 – where he ran onto the stage during her acceptance and snatched her microphone and told the star-studded audience he thought Beyonce Knowles deserved to win – because she feels he is using her image to promote his new music.

A friend of the ‘Love Story’ singer told Ace Showbiz: “She’s fed up of hearing about it and is disgusted that he has the cheek to use her name to promote his new album! Taylor has moved on from the incident and is hoping Kanye will eventually do the same.”

In a series of postings on twitter, Kanye again apologised and revealed he had written a song for Taylor.

He said: “How deep is the scar… I bled hard.. cancelled tour with the number one pop star in the world … closed the doors of my clothing office.

“I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won’t take it then I’ll perform it for her.”
