Movie star Tom Arnold is keen to reunite with his bitter ex-wife Roseanne Barr but fears a stand-up comedy tour the former couple has been offered would be too expensive to stage.

The pair was married for four years at the beginning of the 1990s and their split was anything but amicable.

For the past 15 years, Arnold and Barr have traded insults online and in the press – but there are still some comedy promoters who think the couple should reunite for a tour.

The True Lies star tells news show Access Hollywood, “We’ve been offered a lot of money to tour together, but the cost of security was so high.”

However, Arnold isn’t ruling out teaming up with his ex: “Don’t you think we’d be great in (film) Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, a remake of that? Wouldn’t that be awesome?

“It would be nice (to work with her)… I was a stepfather (to her kids) for five years… I wish her well and I want her to be happy.”

But a cosy get together appears to be some way off – Arnold pokes fun at Barr and their time together in his upcoming TV comedy special That’s My Story & I’m Sticking To It.

Comic Tom Arnold is still sore about the time he spent picking up trash by the roadside as community service for defending his ex-wife Roseanne’s honor.

The True Lies star was arrested for attacking photographers who he claims assaulted his then-partner at Los Angeles International Airport almost 20 years ago.

He felt sure his wife’s testimony would help him in court, but she allegedly let him down – and he was sentenced to community service.

He recalls, “My wife had been assaulted and she was my witness, so how can it go wrong?

“It came time for the trial and they put her on the stand and they said, ‘Roseanne, tell us what happened,’ and she’s like, ‘I didn’t really see anything.’

“Two days later I was in an orange jumpsuit on the 405 (freeway).”

Arnold and Roseanne’s four-year marriage ended in 1994.

Actor Tom Arnold attempted to persuade Britney Spears to enter a 12-step substance abuse program two years ago after finding her slumped in the hallway of his apartment building. The True Lies star knew the pop singer needed help long before her fans and the media.

He reveals she was married to Kevin Federline when they shared a neighboring apartment – and one day Arnold found the singer considerably confused on the stairwell.

He recalls, “I tripped on her… She waited for an hour and a half for Kevin to come up in the elevator and find her and go, ‘Oh my God, honey, are you OK?’ and help her in. Now that’s sad.”
