Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz visit ABC’s “Good Morning America” in Times Square

Tom Cruise’s show-stopping MTV Movie Awards routine took three months to prepare

Producer Mark Burnett was overheard saying at the Soho House after-party that Tom Cruise’s MTV Movie Awards routine took three months of planning.
Cruise’s son, Connor, was surrounded by pretty girls until dad showed up and stole the spotlight.
A spy said, “Katie [Holmes] danced in bare feet holding her red shoes in her hands, while Tom chatted to [actor] Taylor Lautner and ['Blind Side' star] Quinton Aaron.”
Other guests included Cuba Gooding Jr., who was chatting up a gorgeous blonde, and Christina Aguilera, who stayed in a corner with husband Jordan Bratman.

He has a reputation for being somewhat uptight, but there was no holding Tom Cruise back as he performed a jaw-dropping hip hop routine with Jennifer Lopez at the MTV Movie Awards.

The actor reprised his role as Les Grossman, the fat, balding foul-mouthed Hollywood producer character he played in Tropic Thunder.

Bumping and grinding their way across the stage, the pair performed a highly synchronised set, full of cheoreographed moves.
At one point Lopez spanked a willing Cruise, but ticked him off when he attempted to return the favor.

The pair were cheered on by Cruise’s wife Katie Holmes, who sat in the front row.

The hilarious ended with Cruise making a valiant attempt at doing the splits, which he only half-completed.
Cruise had earlier launched the ceremony under the guise of profanity-spewing Grossman.

In the opening parody, Grossman cast Twilight stars Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson as mustached cops, used Michael Cera as a human bookend and yelled at The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith as father Will Smith looked on.

The Hollywood megastar confirmed the movie – in which Tom will reprise his role as US special agent Ethan Hunt – will be helmed by Brad Bird and scripted by British writer Edgar Wright.
He said: “I dig Edgar. Very nice guy, very smart, very talented. I’d really like to do something with him.
“I met Edgar on the set of ‘Mission: Impossible III’ – Simon Pegg and those guys are hilarious. I love ‘Shaun of the Dead’. It’s amazing. But we’re working on Brad right now. I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it but everything’s signed. Brad is doing it.”
The 47-year-old actor is looking forward to starting work on the project, which has a preliminary release date of May 2011.
He told website Empire Online: “We’re having a lot of fun. I like working with people I just love hanging out with. You get to hang out and laugh and talk stories and movies and technology.”
‘Star Trek’ director J.J. Abrams is also working on the film as a writer – but no storyline details have yet been confirmed.”

Even basketball’s biggest fans would acknowledge the game is not for everyone.
The act of running down the court while bouncing a large ball, then throwing it in the net and repeating it 200 times can create lulls for even die-hard supporters.

So it was perhaps no surprise that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes appeared to find the on-court action less than thrilling when the LA Lakers took on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Los Angles this week.
Holmes, 31, in a denim jacket, jeans, peep toe boot heels, appeared sullen while Cruise occupied himself with a box of popcorn.
Also present at the match between the Lakers and Timberwolves were Leonardo Di Caprio and Chris Brown.

R&B singer Brown spent some time talking to Tom Cruise before they shared a manly hug.
While Di Caprio spent his time focussing on the match, which was eventually won by the Lakers 104 to 96.
After the game, LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant walked over to Cruise and gave him a high-five.
According to a report the actor is devastated that David Beckham is out of the World Cup.

The Beckhams and the Cruises have become friends since David and Victoria moved to Los Angeles.
A source close to the actor allegedly said: ‘Tom is devastated for David but at the same time he feels this is a sign that it’s time for him to move on from soccer.
‘He can see a biopic of David Beckham being just the beginning of his new role as a sporting ambassador and Hollywood star.
‘He’s sure David will make a full recovery and play again — and that will be the perfect ending to his story as a sporting legend.’

This is Tom Cruise proving yet again that when it comes to stunts no mission is impossible.
As these pictures from the set of his latest film, The Hardy Men, show, while Cruise at 5ft 7′ may be short in stature he never comes up short when it comes to daredevilry.
The film is based on Edward Stratemeyer’s the Hardy Boys books, about two teenage brothers who become amateur detectives.
Cruise and Ben Stiller play grown-up versions of the Hardy brothers and the film shows Cruise’s character involved in all manner of high jinks.
Ever since his debut in the Mission Impossible series as Ethan Hunt in Brian de Palma’s 1996 hit, Cruise has shown an appetite for the stunt work.
One of the most memorable was the infamous knife to eyeball scene in Mission Impossible 2.

Cruise insisted on not only doing the stunt himself but also on the use of a real knife in the scene, much to director John Woo’s chagrin.
And despite the rumours that he must now seek the permission of his wife Katie Holmes before agreeing to stunt work Cruise, even at the grand old age of 47, appears to be having less and less need for a stunt double.
In the past year pictures of Cruise in all sorts of stunt capers have surfaced.

We saw him leaping rooftops in Vienna for Knight and Day, which is due for release later this year.
Cameron Diaz, who also appears him in the film, expressed praise for her co-star’s appetite for stunts after a scene in which Cruise is seen jumped from a speeding car for the same film.
