The brothers-in-law held court at a private dinner party for about 20 friends, including fellow Cowboy Miles Austin, at Philippe restaurant Saturday night. The rowdy crew then headed to the Dream Downtown in Chelsea for some late-night revelry. A spy told us that hotel guests’ heads turned sharply when they saw the excitable group, “running from the lobby down the basement staircase to take a group bathroom trip.” Romo married Crawford’s beauty-queen sister, Candice, back in May.

It’s the Dallas version of the royal wedding.

Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Candice Crawford tie the knot Saturday night in Dallas.

Guests were streaming in for the 6:30 p.m. ceremony, and a number of streets in Uptown were blocked off.

Six-hundred invited guests were expected to attend the wedding at Arlington Hall off Turtle Creek Boulevard, among them, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He needed special permission from the NFL to accept the invitation because of the league’s labor dispute.
Workers scurried to make sure everything was perfect all day long Saturday leading up to the nuptials.

Wedding planner Todd Fiscus said Romo has played an integral part in the big event.
“Tony picked out every song, and when it plays, and what the keynote things are,” he said. “At the end of the ceremony, we have a lot of special effects not usually played into a wedding ceremony.”

Short ribs and a pizza bar will be on the menu for the reception after the ceremony inside a giant air-conditioned tent next to Arlington Hall.

No outside cameras are allowed inside the event, with extra security to guard against interlopers.

Instead of a limousine, the newlyweds will depart in a vintage Cadillac.

The couple began dating two years ago, two months after Romo’s very high profile relationship with singer Jessica Simpson came to an end.

So how did the Cowboys quarterback know that Crawford was the one for him? “When you know, you know,” Romo said earlier this week. “It’s a pretty easy decision.”

Last month, Crawford told WFAA’s “Good Morning Texas that the NFL lockout has complicated their plans. “This lockout has been quite a dent in the honeymooon idea,” she said.

So while a romantic post-wedding vacation may be on hold for now, it couldn’t stop what most would agree was a fairy-tale wedding.

Now that she’s getting married, Tony Romo’s intended is quitting her job as a TV news reporter.

Candice Crawford, the soon-to-be bride of the Cowboys quarterback, is leaving KDAF-TV in Dallas, “to focus on her upcoming wedding plans,” according to the station.

Romo and Crawford began dating in 2009. She’s the sister of “Gossip Girl” star Chace Crawford.

It’s not hard to argue with her decision — journalists are notoriously underpaid and Romo has a yearly base salary of $8.5 million.

Injured Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is engaged to be married to former Miss Missouri Candice Crawford.

Crawford works as a sports reporter for KDAF-TV in Dallas. The station reports that the 30-year-old player proposed to Crawford while the couple were celebrating her 24th birthday at a Dallas restaurant on Thursday.

A wedding date has not been announced.

Romo has not played since breaking his collarbone on Oct. 25. He previously dated singer Jessica Simpson.

On the TV station’s website, Crawford says she has a passion for sports, loves to run, play basketball, cook and go to Cowboys games.

NFL star Tony Romo, along with other high-profile celebrities such as Carmen Electra, Reggie Bush and Ja Rule, recently joined forces with Cameo Stars to film a series of virtual greetings that consumers can collect or send to their social network or mobile device.

But even more important than simply saying “Happy Birthday” to his fans, Romo chose to specially dedicate a message to our troops serving overseas and is encouraging Americans to send a virtual “cameo appearance” to someone they love who is serving our country.

And for the star quarterback, the cause hit close to home.

“Personally, I can’t thank the men and women who serve our country enough for everything that they do,” Romo said from the Los Angeles film set. “ My dad was in the service and I was raised to respect and revere everything that those in the military do for all of us and the freedoms that they provide. I want to make sure that different people know that we’re supporting them and want to help them out.”

And while the Dallas Cowboy confirmed that his recent attempt at becoming a professional golfer isn’t indicative of a new career path, he did seem pretty comfortable in front of the lights and camera.

“I’m a phenomenal actor… I think for me it’s just doing what you feel. It’s not as difficult as some might think,” he joked. “No, I’m actually a terrible actor.”

And that’s good news for his many fans, who would likely prefer that Romo stick to his NFL contract. And given that the Super Bowl is being held in his hometown next year, he is certainly feeling the pinch.

“There’s pressure [on my team to win] – it would be great if we were lucky enough to prove to be in that position where we could make it to the end,” he added. “But I feel good. I think we had a great offseason. The guys worked hard, good nucleus of players coming back. It’s about continuing to get better every day. I think the guys have taken that approach and it’s been good.”
