A former psychiatric patient convicted of stalking Uma Thurman was jailed Friday after he was charged with again trying to contact the Oscar-nominated actress.

Jack Jordan was arraigned on charges of stalking and criminal contempt for violating a restraining order. Jordan pleaded not guilty in front of the same judge who warned the 39-year-old he would go to jail if he tried to contact Thurman after his 2008 conviction for stalking the “Kill Bill” actress.

Prosecutors said he made several calls to Thurman on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30. He was arrested shortly before Thanksgiving at his family’s home in North Potomac, Md. A police spokeswoman with the suburban Washington, D.C., department said officers sent to arrest Jordan found him sitting in front of a computer with Thurman’s name in a Google search box.

Jordan was extradited to New York on Thursday. He told police, according to prosecutors, that the calls were a drunken mistake.

Michelle Kaminsky, Brooklyn assistant district attorney, did not say how Jordan got Thurman’s number but said he may have been in Manhattan when one of the calls was placed.

“During one of the phone calls to a house guest, the defendant got very agitated and asked the house guest to step outside,” Kaminsky said.

Jordan was being held without bail until his next court date, scheduled for Wednesday. His attorney had argued for protective custody because he said he could be attacked at Rikers Island, but Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro denied the request. A call to Jordan’s parents was not returned Friday.

The former psychiatric patient was convicted of stalking and harassing the actress from 2005 to 2007. He was sentenced in 2008 to three years’ probation and told not to try to contact Thurman for five years.

Thurman told jurors at his trial that she was “completely freaked out” by his behavior. He sent bizarre letter and cards – featuring such ominous images as a picture of a bride with her head torn off and such unsettling messages as “my hands should be on your body at all times” – called her family and employees, tried to get into her trailer on a movie set and showed up at her Manhattan home late at night, according to testimony.

Jordan testified that he’d developed a crush on Thurman in high school after seeing her in the 1988 movie “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen.”

He was involuntarily committed to a mental hospital in late 2005 after being questioned about his obsession with Thurman, he said.

After Jordan’s most recent arrest, Thurman said she would not comment on the case.

The case is being prosecuted in Manhattan by a Brooklyn attorney because Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance’s former law firm represented Thurman.

Jack Jordan – who was convicted in 2008 of fourth degree stalking and second degree aggravated harassment and ordered to seek psychiatric care as part of his probation – made a series of phone calls to the ‘Kill Bill’ star in October and when police went to his home in Maryland last week to arrest him, they found him on his computer typing Uma’s name into Google.

After his arrest, Jordan was put under observation and will appear in court on December 21.

Uma made a complaint against Jordan in October after he broke the rules of his probation order, which forbids him from contacting her.

A source at the New York Police Department revealed that Jordan tried to phone the actress to warn her that her boyfriend financier Arpad Busson “was not good enough” for her and that she should “marry” him. When he reached her assistant instead he reportedly demanded to know where Uma was.

The source said: “Uma had a criminal complaint prepared against this guy and filed on October 31. No arrests have been made, but he is wanted here. If he shows, he’s getting locked up.”

During his 2008 trial, Jordan – who had been found outside the star’s home in Greenwich Village, New York – said he would have left the Pulp Fiction’ beauty alone if he knew his behaviour was scaring her.

He said: “I heard things like, ‘Would you leave?’ instead of, ‘Sir, you’re making Ms. Thurman nervous. Please leave.’
“My greatest wish is that I had known sooner that I was putting fear into the heart of a woman I cared very much for.”
Uma told the Manhattan State Supreme Court she was “completely freaked out” by Jordan and said his alleged harassment of her had been a “nightmare”.

Uma Thurman’s stalker, Jack Jordan, has allegedly struck again, two years after he was convicted of putting her through years of torment. Jordan, convicted of stalking and harassing her in 2008, allegedly made phone calls to her office and cellphone last week, reports The Post’s Jamie Schram.

Jordan is said by law enforcement sources to have called her office and spoken to her assistant Friday night.

The next day, he allegedly called Thurman’s personal mobile phone, which her assistant also answered. Jordan allegedly said her Swiss businessman boyfriend, Arpad Busson, was “not good enough” and “she should marry me.” It’s believed Jordan, who spent four months in jail and now lives in Maryland, violated an order of protection, but has yet to be charged. New York City Department of Probation spokesman Ryan Dodge said they were “investigating and will take appropriate action.” Thurman’s rep didn’t get back to us.

She once starred in a film called Prime, and it’s not hard to see why.

Uma Thurman, who turned 40 in April this year, showed off her incredible bikini body while on holiday with boyfriend Arpad Busson in the Aeolian Island of Filicudi.

Wearing a taupe two-piece, Uma looked toned and tanned as she made the most of the sunshine and played in the water.

The actress enjoyed a meal with on-off boyfriend Busson at romantic restaurant The Little Mermaid, before heading back to the yacht where she displayed her impressive diving skills.

Mother-of-two Uma looked amazing in the bikini, but recently admitted she has sometimes struggled with her looks.

She said: ‘My mother always made it very clear to me that, whatever you look like now, you’re going to look worse later. Don’t get too attached to your beauty because it’s not yours to keep.

‘Don’t go around thinking that it’s some big bonus and that you can count on it. And I was not classically attractive. I’ve always been sort of an acquired taste.’

Uma is clearly making the most of her time off before she has to start promoting new movie Bel Ami, in which she stars alongside Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon.

She will also soon start shooting the third installment of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill franchise, in which she will reprise her role as The Bride, but said previously the part takes an enormous amout of physical endurance.

She explained: ‘It was demanding to take on such an incredible physical challenge and play a character who for so long is almost in a silent movie and then to wait until volume two, which is the more character-driven film.

‘I had never read anything like this. You had to wonder where to begin to prepare for this part.

”This was the most physically extreme movie I have ever done.’

Uma will also be using her fame to protest against the use of children in armed conflict, when she stars as Sister Caroline in upcoming movie Girl Soldier.

Uma Thurman’s planned wedding to entrepreneur Arpad ‘Arki’ Busson was cancelled because the actress had second thoughts about her future, she revealed.

‘Uma was really affected by the early deaths of her two friends Natasha Richardson and David Carradine,’ a pal said.

‘It made her re-evaluate her life and she concluded that Arki and her wanted different things’.

Uma, 39, lived near Natasha in New York state and after her death said: ‘Growing up has been all about realising that life gets more serious.’

Adds a source: ‘Life with Arki was all about dashing from St Tropez to St Barts. Uma just wanted to slow down.

‘They had a big argument and Uma called it a day.’

It would have been Uma’s third marriage, she was previously wed to actors Gary Oldman and Ethan Hawke.

Meanwhile, Arki has two sons with ex-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson.

According to reports, the “Kill Bill” star has called it quits with multimillionaire Arpad Busson.

The two announced their engagement last June after Busson gave Thurman an eight-carat diamond ring – but he can expect its return. “She will probably give it back,” says a source. “She wants to return everything that is his.”

Maybe in anticipation of that milestone birthday, actress and former model Uma Thurman is clearly keen to show that she isn’t quite ready to hang up her sex kitten title.

The 39-year-old smoulders on a couch clad in a feathered stole, and black stockings and suspenders in a photoshoot for W magazine.

With Marilyn Monroe style peroxide hair, she looks like a tragic actress on the way down the greasy pole of celebrity.

Uma believes she has lived her life backwards. The Kill Bill actress, who turns 40 next April, said she has become more reflective in recent years.

She is currently promoting film Motherhood, in independent movie opening in October which had a budget of just $5million.

The story follows a single fraught day in the life of a New York mother of two and blogger as she prepares for her daughter’s birthday party, enters a writing contest, navigates playground politics and clashes with her best friend (played by Minnie Driver).

‘I can’t say my 30s were the easiest time. And I had thought my 20s were hard!

‘You know, that’s the worst mistake a woman can make, to think, Oh, I’m 32 and I’ve had two kids and I’ve worked since I was 16 and now it’s going to get easier. Because as soon as you think that, you’re doomed! You’re absolutely doomed!

She told W: I feel like I lived my life backwards.

‘Like Bob Dylan said, ‘I was so much older then; I’m younger than that now.’ Getting older has been a process of realising that I wasn’t as grown up as I had thought.

‘When I was a teenager people often referred to me as jaded or knowing. It’s a classic teen illusion to think you know it all, but I’ve certainly learned I don’t. I’ve certainly learned the hard way.’

The actress denied reports of immediate plans to marry fiancé, financier and phianthropist, Arpad Busson later this year.
