When talk show host Ellen DeGeneres gave Justin Bieber his early birthday gift, it was brought out by the one and only USHER – Bieber’s friend and mentor. But that wasn’t the only surprise! Usher, who is a producer on Justin’s film, “Never Say Never,” invited the entire studio audience to the Hollywood premiere! Usher said, “Would you guys like to come to the premiere?” Ellen added, “We’ve got buses!” Usher responds, “Come on!” Immediately following the taping of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, the audience attended the star studded movie premiere.

Usher and former Guns ‘N Roses guitarist Slash are slated to make surprise appearances at the Super Bowl half time show.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity Wednesday, because the musicians’ performances were not going to be announced.

Usher and Slash are supposed to join the Black Eyed Peas, who are the main halftime act for Sunday’s NFL championship game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers at Cowboys Stadium.

Black Eyed Peas member will.i.am is featured on Usher’s hit single “O.M.G.”

Slash has performed Guns ‘N Roses song “Sweet Child o’ Mine” on tour with the Black Eyed Peas; he also collaborated with Black Eyed Peas member Fergie on the song “Beautiful Dangerous” last year.

The NFL announced in November that the Black Eyed Peas would be the featured Super Bowl halftime performer. Past halftime acts have included U2, the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Paul McCartney and Prince.

He’s one of the biggest R&B stars in the world with one gold and five platinum albums to his name.

But despite his lauded songwriting abilities, it would seem that even Usher is not safe from being accused of plagiarism.

And the artist in question that he has been accused of stealing from? Homer Simpson.

A video playing two lines from Usher’s smash hit song OMG was cut together with two lines from a Christmas carol that Homer attempts to write in an episode called Dude, Where’s My Ranch? from 2003.

Usher – who collaborates with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am on the song – is heard singing: ‘honey got a booty like pow, pow, pow. Honey got some boobies like wow, oh wow.’

The video then cuts to a still of Homer on a giant keyboard as the two lines from his song are played which go: ‘Christmas in December, wow wow wow. Give me tons of presents , now now now.’

Then the video has a mash-up of the two, and shows that it is either a massive coincidence or Usher has stolen the hook, been massively inspired by Homer’s song or just paid homage to the lovable character.

The discovery was made by breakfast show DJs at Y101, a radio station that broadcasts out of Jackson, the capital of US state Mississippi.

They cut the video and posted it on YouTube which led to hundreds of comments on the site and fan forums everywhere.

On buzzfeed.com, someone wrote: ‘I read the title and in my head, I immediately went. CHRISTMAS IN DECEMBER WOW WOW WOWWW.’

Another wittily added: ‘One song is awesome and funny, the other song is talentless and annoying as f***. Which is which?’

But Usher fans also came out in full support of the star on the Entertainment Weekly website one wrote: ‘I see the connection, but I bet Usher has more important stuff to do then watch a seven year old Simpsons episode and think “That’d be a great song!”. It doesn’t make any sense.’

However, this is not the first time that usher has been accused of stealing someone’s song, as last month, a singer called Wadena Pyatt filed a lawsuit against him and singer Alicia Keys, claiming his hit song, ‘Caught Up’, was stolen from her.

She claims got a record contract with Alicia Keys’ MBK Entertainment label in 2003 and wrote the cut for inclusion on her debut album but when she heard the song on Usher’s Confessions album, but she was not listed as one of the songwriters.

Pyatt is demanding damages for profits received from sales of the track, which was released as a single in 2004.

The crooner brought an ecstatic female fan onstage Monday night for a serenade of his sensual song “Trading Places” at Madison Square Garden. He sat her on a couch while he caressed her.

Then, after they changed positions, the overexcited fan tried to move her leg to get closer to him. Her stiletto boot heel knocked him in the nose.

The fan tried to smooth things over by massaging Usher’s face, but there was no need: Usher wasn’t hurt and cracked a joke about it.

Usher was in tears after losing two awards at the American Music Awards to Justin Bieber, including favorite entertainer of the year, the top AMA honor.

But Usher wasn’t upset about his loss – far from it. Instead, he was welling with pride over the success of his young protege, Justin Bieber, who was the night’s biggest winner with four awards and the youngest performer ever to capture the entertainer award.

“To see Justin take the award – having received that award before – it was like an out of body experience, you understand?” Usher said backstage. “It was emotional. I don’t cry that often, but I did. Hopefully it gives an indication of how hard we worked to build a career that hopefully will flourish and blossom over the years.”

Bieber, who is signed to Usher’s label, had a perfect debut at the American Music Awards, winning all four awards he was nominated for: entertainer of the year, breakthrough artist of the year, favorite pop/rock male and favorite pop/rock album for “My World 2.0.”

Bieber’s debut album is one of the year’s top-sellers, with almost two million sold, and he’s got a new CD, “My Worlds Acoustic,” out this week at Walmart. His ascension marks a phenomenal rise since first garnering attention via homemade videos on YouTube about three years ago.

“This means the world to me,” said Bieber after winning breakthrough artist. “I come from the smallest town in the world, of like 30,000 people; I never thought this was possible.”

Bieber bested mentor Usher and Eminem for two of his wins. Eminem, whose “Recovery” was a critical and commercial triumph, was nominated for five awards on the evening, tying him with Lady Antebellum, who also had a breakthrough year with their near triple-platinum album “Need You Now.”

Neither were the night’s big winners, but they came away from the night with something: Eminem got two awards, while the country trio won favorite country band, duo or group.

“Thanks for inviting us to the party,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley after the win.

Other winners included Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift. But Sunday’s ceremony at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles was as much a showcase for acts with new albums as it was a celebration of the biggest achievers of 2010. While some of the night’s winners will likely be nominees when next week’s Grammys are announced, the American Music Awards aren’t so much a predictor of the Grammys is it is a party for the industry’s mainstream acts.

Rihanna, with her hair dyed a ruby red, gave the show a colorful and sexy start, performing a medley of songs from her just released album “Loud,” including the No. 1 hit “What’s My Name,” wearing a bustier and what seemed like a scarf wrapped around her backside.

“This is amazing!” said an exuberant Rihanna, who danced onstage later to receive her award – favorite soul/R&B female.

The Black Eyed Peas, winners for favorite pop/rock band, gave a levitating performance, singing from boxes atop the stage during part of their performance of their new single, “The Time.” Kid Rock gave a stirring, acoustic performance of “Times Like These,” his song lifting up his hometown of Detroit during its recent economic struggles, from his new CD, “Born Free.”

A pregnant Pink was among the evening’s performance highlights. Unlike recent performances marked by a high-wire act, she stayed close to the ground to perform her latest song, “Raise Your Glass,” with a tightly choreographed, high-energy dance number.

Swift, last year’s artist of the year, took home favorite country female. Sporting sleek blonde hair instead of her usual cascading curls, Swift said simply: “I just want to thank the fans.”

Swift later performed her new single “Back to December,” a song she also performed on the CMA Awards earlier in the month, but mixed things up by incorporating some of OneRepublic’s “Apologize.”

Ke$ha, perhaps trying to make up for the absent Lady Gaga, had the night’s most bizarre performance: She performed her heavily Auto-Tuned hit “Take It Off” looking like something out of space, with beams of light for eyes and sporting a motorcycle helmet. She then stripped down to a mirrored outfit, segueing into the next song with a pack of male dancers dressed like her, complete with blond wigs and fishnet stockings.

The ‘OMG’ hitmaker has revealed he wants to work on the troubled singer’s new album, and hopes to enlist the help of other stars to make her comeback record a success.

He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Britney is great. We’ve actually talked about working together in the past, I’m hoping something will happen.”

The 31-year-old star – whose new album ‘Raymond v Raymond’ features the likes of Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias, Jay-Z and Pitbull – also explained he hopes other musicians will get on board to make Britney’s new album a success.

Usher recently revealed he eventually hopes to achieve the same ‘King of Pop’ status as the late Michael Jackson, and was thrilled Jay-Z suggested he would be the perfect artist to fill the void left by the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker.

He said: “I’ve been doing this 18 years now and my icon is well on its way. Michael was doing it for 50 years and that’s something I’d like to grow towards. At the same time, I am one of a kind, a worldwide pop icon. I think Jay is correct. Thanks, Jay!”
