Todd Palin, the husband of vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was subpoenaed in an abuse of power probe, the Anchorage Daily News reported on Friday.

The Alaska Governor, 44, is under investigation by the state legislation for allegedly terminating Alaska’s Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan, because he refused to fire her ex-brother-in-law, state trooper Michael Wooten, who was involved in a rancorous divorce and custody battle with Palin’s sister Molly.

Todd Palin, 44, was one of the 13 people who will be called to testify in the investigation, known as “troopergate,” according to the Anchorage Daily News.

Retired prosecutor Stephen Branchflower was hired in August by legislators to investigate Monegan’s dismissal.

“He’s such a central figure. … I think one should be issued for him,” Branchflower told the paper.

Branchflower said that he wants to interview Palin herself, but did not ask for a subpoena for her.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, Palin has said she fired Monegan over disagreements about budget, while Monegan claimed he received repeated e-mails and phone calls from the Palin’s expressing aggravation over Wooten’s continued employment.
