At 47 years of age and with millions in the bank, you’d think Tom Cruise might call time on performing his own stunts.
But the Hollywood actor proved he still has the vigour to take on the kind of action roles that would frighten most actors half his age.
Cruise was pictured filming scenes for his new movie in Salzburg, Austria – and he literally threw himself into some death-defying manoeuvres.

Strapped to a safety wire, Cruise was seen leaping from the rooftop of a building standing some 40ft off the ground for his role in new film Knight & Day.
And it didn’t end there, the actor later leapt from a window ledge on the same building, flying through the air upside down – his fall softened by safety mats.

The action-comedy, also starring Cameron Diaz, centres on a lonely woman (Diaz) whose seemingly harmless blind date suddenly turns her life upside-down when a super spy, played by Cruise, takes her on a violent worldwide journey to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source.

Cruise had previously been pictured shooting scenes in Boston, where he was also seen spending time with his wife Katie Holmes – who was filming further up the east coast in Long Island, New York.
Just last month he was seen performing another daredevil stunt as he jumped between two cars, watched by Katie and their daughter Suri, 3.

Production on the film was temporarily put on hold last week after two women were allegedly injured on set in Cadiz, Spain.
The incident happened after seven bulls escaped and ran wild for about 40 minutes before being recaptured.
