Are the stars of “The Real Housewives of New York” jealous of their most telegenic member?
Following Bravo’s announcement that N.Y. Housewife Bethenny Frankel would be getting her own show, not one of her cast mates called to congratulate her – not even her best bud on the show Jill Zarin. “What’s funny is that nobody on my cast has said a single word to me about it,” Frankel, 38, told People.com. “It must be a giant elephant (in the room).”
Not that Frankel seems to mind the snub. “I hope they would be supportive just because they’re human beings,” she said. “But do I care? Nah. I don’t even think about it. I’ve got too much to focus on.”
Frankel insisted that she isn’t thinking of leaving the flagship show. But she didn’t rule out the main show bringing in new cast members at some point.
“Let’s put it this way, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other people that were alternated in,” Frankel says.
After all, Bravo has already stuck a new player into the original New York cast, as they have in Atlanta and Orange County.
Frankel gave no hint about her new series, except that it’s all about – who else? – her. “People ask me what it’s going to be,” she says. “It’s going to be whatever I’m doing, whatever my life is, whatever my career is, whatever my relationship is — whatever is truthfully happening to me. If I could predict the future, I’d know what the show is going to be about.”
The show is likely to include her current boyfriend, Jason Hoppy, who will be introduced on the “New York Housewives” next season. “I put him on when it’s necessary because the audience wants to know I have a boyfriend and meet him and trust him,” Frankel says.
The reality star also remained mum on what will happen in the coming season, the third for the New York-based series. “Some relationships have stayed the same and some have changed,” she says. “There have been a lot of shifts. It’s quite an explosive show.”
